Settings problems
1 - difficulty carries across other characters (setting on character A overwrites character B's difficulty). Bit annoying since my second personality plays on novice and I play on master.

2 - All autosaves turned off, game still auto saves everywhere.

Any way to fix or circumvent these ?

Use seperate windows logins, or change the settings every time you start the game..
Creating a new user on the computer is quite easy to do as a fix, as the settings for both the game and saves are saved in the users documents file. This can fix similar issues you might encounter in other games as well.
Difficulty doesn't affect rewards or achievements.

Check your .ini settings for autosaving, not just the main menu settings.

I don't care about rewards or achievements, I simply want to play at the desired difficuly without having to change user profile or difficulty setting every time after my second personality had a session.

I can't see how switching user profile is more convenient than changing the difficulty in game, in both cases that doesn't fix the issue.

It's more convenient in the way that you can have your settings in every game you play without the worry of having them changed by your wife..
You technically have a 3rd option.. Make a 2nd Steam account, add it to family share and you are now storing the settings separate.

The only ini file I found so far only has display settings in it

C:\Users\user\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings.ini

It's less convenient in the way that I have to switch profile and relaunch the game instead of opening the menu and changing the difficulty.

Changing steam account is about as bad.

I'll just say this.. account sharing isn't allowed hence why family share is a thing. 1 Game library 2 accounts.

This is entirely unhelpful but thanks for the reminder

Edited the posts to avoid legal issues and account suspensions.

Tell her to git gud and play on master. It's not so hard when you know your stuff.

I don't know what you're referring to. Anyway, this thread is about getting difficulty settings to stick to one character and auto-save settings to work. Feel free to add input
