if you need it to heal, just wait about an hour,if you can beat off whatever is trying to kill it and save it.
if the game was Unchanged, you probably want the DB Horse, and want to skip the unicorn, as when it dies, it dosent respawn. ever.
and it has a psychotic tendancy to attack anything that starts fights, even imperial guards.
surely there´s a mod that (drastically) increases the horses HP so in the worst case, it doesnt really matter.
if you fast-travel with it next to a guard, it will go hostile and become unmountable.
i didnt really test it, but i´d say the guard would´ve won easily, so i just finished it and the quest.
it even became hostile to me (unmountable) after i dismounted and i walked off into the woods and aggroed a spriggan (against which it definitely would´ve lost). even after finishing the spriggan, the unicorn used its pointless attack on me bc... i guess i had a weapon in hand.
actually "keeping" the unicorn means to me to get another horse, so the unicorn doesnt fast-travel with you or (the way worse option) immediatly enter a location after fast-travel so the unicorn does disappear instead of aggroeing everything.
... might as well put it down at that point.
It gets worse when you are over level 20 and country side casually stroll high level trolls, will o wisps spriggans and other high level monsters your horse dies faster than you get out of the saddle.
Over the years it has been attributed to the fact that the Gamebryo combat AI tends to prioritise lower personality scores. But I never thought this to be right. The enemy AI doesn't seem to prioritise other NPC horses, only the player's.
So to me it always felt instead that it tends to prioritise the HorsePC faction, which is the faction that is attributed to your horse once you own it.
It was a ploy to get players to buy the horse armour dlc. Don't overthink it.
That explains why it just started happening. I'm currently Lvl 9.
Yeah... and this feels like exactly what's happening.
I was actually considering to start running everywhere anyways for the Athletic Skill.
Again... Thanx All for the Info!!
