Sneaking and shooting a bow is life but this is pain...
Yo I've been playing for around 30 hours but now I'm kind of crashing all the time because my marksman skill is so high that everyone who gets hit and gets paralyzed then bugs and crashes my game. I dont want to change my build from bow and arrow but is there a fix for this?

I had the same issue, but disabling the paralysis effect fixed it for me:

1. Navigate to

%HOMEPATH%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows

2. Add this to Altar.ini (it is empty initially):

[/script/ue5altarpairing.voblivioninitialsettings]
PerkMarksmanExpertParalyzeChance=0.000000
PerkMarksmanMasterParalyzeChance=0.000000

This disables paralysis effect for expert and master marksman.

Found it on nexus:

When using a bow why does the shield stay on your arm it was doing it for me it didn't do that in the original game when switching from sword to bow

Because the game is a buggy mess made by people who didn't understand the original engine it's built on.

Thanks for the incredibly easy solution, hopefully other people having this issue will find this post.

Do you know if making changes like this one (editing that ini file) will disable achievements?

Yes paralyze bug is known and fixed on the upcoming patch.

Simple solution: You shoot your arrow. You paralyze the target. STOP don't do anything else.
Wait for the paralyze effect to run off. Once it's off, repeat. I know, not ideal. but at least you don't crash.

That was also something I was worried about, but achievements are still popping for me :)

This might not be an option for everybody. For me most crashes were caused by enemies falling or levitating (shivering isles) due to the paralysis or when getting up after the effect ends...

Well, at least using the Paralyze Spell doesn't crash the game. I've Paralyzed the same enemy over and over, hit them with different weapons over and over while Paralyzed, and everything was fine. So you can make yourself a Touch or Target Paralyze Spell if you want.

Just unequip the torch you maybe still holding and everything should be fine again. Hopfully they will fix that soon.
