Issue with the Deluxe Content Horse Armor Killing Horse

I bought a white horse, and then got the Order Horse Armor for it. This first time I had no issues with the Horse Armor. Some point later, after clearing an Oblivion Gate, I returned to find the horse dead.

Later, I bought another white horse to replace the one that had previously died. After doing so, I went back to the Orc at the Imperial City Stable again and bought the "Order" Horse Armor once more for my new replacement white horse. As soon as I exited her Stable Home to find my Armored Horse, it was there - but lying on the ground dead.

I had a save game right before buying the armor a second time, so I'm able to load up from that point and able to replicate the issue each time. I tried at least three times, and each time I buy the armor for my horse that was alive before I got it, it is dead after buying it.

Anyone having a similar issue?
