Instant available fast travel!?!
why would Bethesda release the game with exploration being an afterthought, having fast travel to anywhere from the beginning is crazy! this should be an accessibility option not a main feature. I know it was the same in the original Oblivion but com'on. ngl this kind of ruined the game for me and if I didn't already play past my refund window by the time I noticed I would have refunded it. I hope there's a mod that can remove auto discovered locations because I can't play the game knowing any location is just a click away.

you can fast travel every where from the start you can only choose the other cities you still have to explore all locations

EDIT: also you fast travel is optional you dont have to use it ever so if you dont like the feature dont use it or go to each city then start using it

I found a console command the removes all fast travel map markers letting you start fresh its "Tmm 0"
Oh no, i dont have to open an annoying NPC lexicon to take the next silk strider to god knows where so i can sell my stuff, how terrible!

I prefer having an empty map and discovering everything organically if the main cities are open to fast travel to it takes all the fun of exploration out of the game.
if the option is there I'm going to use it.
glad it was just a simple console command and didn't need a mod.

And you just disabled your achievments.
The cities are marked, the rest is not, quests lead you to many many different caves, ruins, bandit hideouts et cetera.

And you know what i like to do most in Oblivion? Explore! I just run around with no quest, every five minutes a cave to check out, a ruin to plunder.

Console commands disable achievements.
So simply dont fast travel. I fail to see how them including an ability means you have to use it.

It's almost like its something you have to willingly do, and OP is pissed off about it just existing. I know it's a crazy concept, but I wonder if they tried just... not fast traveling? lol.

Plenty of people do it, don't see what's stopping them.

No, it wasnt like that in morrowind.
Fast travel was new to the gaming world back then. I'm not sure that oblivion was the first but it wasn't common at all yet. They were still getting a feel for what was right

The fact that its optional an no one forces you to fast travel is wild.

No, i even mentionem them in my first answer to the thread.
Sure you can take a silt strider, but before that nothing is marked, you mark them by going there, and the guy that made the thread talks about everything being marked.
