mod that can limit the gear bandits use
I want a mod that can limit the gear bandits use. Now that I've reached level 15, the bandits out in the wild have gear that's far better than anything I can buy in stores.:steamsad:

That's called the leveled list in Oblivion, basically bandits of different presets are in a 'list' at specific level tiers, and will change their loadout in higher tiers.

So to mod that is to remove the later tiered bandits, and put something else in that place, as the 'highest' level tier is the only thing possible.

Plus there is a vanilla+ mod already on nexusmod that is a port of a OG oblivion mod to tweak things.

Also in this remake, the gear you find in store is boosted by your mercentile skill, notice the 'shops has better goods' part.
and you are complaining... why?
loot their asses!

Because it looks too unrealistic this way.
It is a little weird to see a freaking hedge bandit in full ebony gear. Like, why are you a backwoods bandit if you have the scratch to afford that outfit man?
It's a bit silly, yes. But gotta remember there's no crafting in this game; bandits and chests are the only sources of weapons and armor and chest loot tends to be hot garbage. Look at it this way, it incentivizes actually killing them for loot instead of sneaking by; they're basically walking treasure chests.

Maybe it is all on lease so they have to pay a fee or it will be confiscated? I know there was a few mods that limited what gear bandits could equip with the possibility of higher items on the leader and boss type versions in the original game. It is likely you can get them for the remaster but I am holding of on messing with mods until/if they get full support.

The alternative is to make it so higher tier armor rarely drops, instead all enemies scales in base levels, meaning they have higher stats even in lower gear to compensate. Then shops would have to sell these gear, or you find them in boss loot or boss drops.

I can see them having higher tier weapons than higher tiered armor though.

Also the Thieves Den DLC in the original game added more cutlasses over the base game's standard variant too, and you can find 'Fine Steel' variants of weapons so giving bandits unique loadout so they use up to 'Masterforge' grade items is fine.

Also in a sense they scale with higher quality leveled item of lower quality gear, if you wanna dress up using those pieces, but have higher stats?

So imagine 'mastergrade' leather armor sets that bandits wear, that are black in color.
The tiers before that are steadily darker in shades or have interesting color variations.

Imagine Troll Fur Armor sets that are black in color (since the base trolls are black in fur) too.

There is a durability stat in the game for all armor too, and I think these variables are set pretty low in the remastered version, so a mod that adds aethestic alternatives to the lower tier armor set, to swap out bandit gear, while boosting the durability (due to better material lore wise), then it'd balance it out.

Who doesn't bother going to any armorer to pay to repair when you can simply buy tons of repair hammers?

Ascension Remastered and Impoverished Bandits on the Nexus are 2 I know of. I would advise caution though, the modding scene seems to still be working out the kinks with a lot of stuff at this early date

Yeah since this is a UE5 game (it's not using Gamebryo or Creation engine) it means assets are different this time around in order for it to be utilized in this game.
