"exception_access_violation" Crash, constantly
Keeps crashing and crashing, i've tried everything, DDU and clean drivers, fresh install of the game, verified integrity (i have no mods), i've noticed that it mostly crashes when i'm moving between areas during loadings so disabling the autosave in loadings helped a bit, but still crashes randomly when i'm doing anything else.

Also set the .exe to Windows 8 compatibility because i couldn't get out of the sewers at the beginning and that fixed it.
(Even the cloud saves aren't working so i can't continue playing it on my Deck...)

Could you post the entire crash callsrack / eeror message ?
I have a friend with an AMD card who's got the same issue.
If you have NO mods, then maybe try some? Test out the ultimate engine tweaks:
https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/35

And even the lumen begone mod:
https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/183

Most likely it won't help, but can't hurt to try, right?
Just back-up your engine.ini file before you replace it.

Let me know if that changes anything at all.
Also, disable every upscaler in both the game and your nvidia control panel and try it then.

I installed the engine tweaks but i still crash.
I don't really want to disable lumen, but someone on reddit mentioned this:
"My problem was that this Lumen thingy was soaking all of my ram while loading the world. Read something of a known ue5 problem. There are some mods which disable lumen or set a max ram to use for lumen. This worked for me."

I'll look for a mod for the ram
whatever anyone suggests it will not work i keep getting the samething over an over an over and over i have tried all the fixes nothing works so unless they fix this issue we will be doing this till kingdom come.....end of b's story FIX IT ALREADY YOU LAZY F/ERS
Check your plugins.txt has the following load order as if it has been corrupted you will get those errors because the game is out of sequence:

Oblivion.esm
DLCBattlehornCastle.esp
DLCFrostcrag.esp
DLCHorseArmor.esp
DLCMehrunesRazor.esp
DLCOrrery.esp
DLCShiveringIsles.esp
DLCSpellTomes.esp
DLCThievesDen.esp
DLCVileLair.esp
Knights.esp
AltarESPMain.esp
AltarDeluxe.esp
YOUR PLUGINS HERE
#AltarGymNavigation.esp
#TamrielLeveledRegion.esp

Ignore the plugins starting with Altar if you did not get the deluxe version.

The last two with the hash tag in front are test plugins that were left in the release version. The hash tag in the plugins.txt file before any line is a comment prefix, anything after is ignored.

The .esm plugin ("Elder Scrolls Master") file is normally the first line of your plugins.txt followed by the other plugins. The .esp plugin ("Elder Scrolls Plugin") file is normally after the master file as they need to modify the master file as they depend on it to be loaded first. Also some of the other plugins may need to be loaded in a specific sequence if they depend on other plugins before it (usually any mods you download).

You are right, ♥♥♥♥ this ♥♥♥♥, ♥♥♥♥ bethesta, ♥♥♥♥ unreal engine 5. This is getting ridicolous, i cannot even ask for a refund.
I love Oblivion but this ♥♥♥♥ is unplayable because of the crashes, i'm having enough of it
40 hours so far. ZERO crashes.
Three friends, on a 3060 and a 3090 a 4070 on same situation, never crashed in dozen hours. except one of them (the 3060 one) that crashed few times because the paralyze bug that is known and going to be fixed soon.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I'll try this. If this does the job i am starting to get mad at intel because this CPU has a lot of issues with a lot of softwares lol

Ok... i played a hour and a half without any crash or strong stuttering... i really really hope this is THE fix. Thank you

I searched for fixes to stop constantly crashing since day one and I finally found this one that worked. Since then I've logged another 20ish hours with only 4 crahes, 2 of them being from known vanilla bug causing a crash when creating poitions too fast. I am playing with around 15 mods, some ini tweaks, and a reshade preset. So those may have caused my other 2 crashes, but either way running smooth. Yeah apparently ue5 and new gen intel don't mix well along with buggy nvidia driver updates. Hope this works out for you!

Also, 90% of my crashes were shader cache crashes. I did get a few exception access violation ones, but since this fix I've not had any shader cache crashes, only the 4 exception access violations. Something to keep in mind since your situation may not be as comparable to mine

I'm just gonna ask a question when this crash occurs are you saving either quick save or auto saving because usually that's what happens to me when the crashes with that error mine was caused with the plugins file undoing any additions and leaving it as base usually fixed it

I know this might sound kinda crazy, but if you run dual monitors, turn one off while playing this game, it worked for me.
