Can I start DLC immediately (how does this Remastered work on leveling)?
Or I need to be at a certain level? If so, what level is the min recommended to start Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles?

I played Oblivion on release but never got the DLCs. I didn't care too much for the MQ and I think I did all the guilds except Fighters so I might do Fighters before Knights/Shivering.

Actually I'm pretty sure I did do Shivering Isles, but man that was so so long ago...

Thanks.

I wandered up to Frostcrag Spire and found the key to the place at the camp just down the hill. Before, you received a letter about inheriting the place.

KOTN should start the same way it did before; there's rumors of an attack in Anvil. Start there.

Depending on the DLC you might need a few levels. But for the most part it should pop up in your journal as you go.

OK so it doesn't matter if we are level 5, we can start it and there wont be level 20 enemies (I think that's how the original Oblivion was too but I forgot)?

I think I'll do Fighters...KOTN...then SI. How boring is the Fighters guild? It always ranks as the boringest right there with the Mages guild. I think that's why it was the only guild I didn't do (or so boring that I dont remember it).

The Fighters Guild wasn't DLC. it was part of the vanilla OG. That said, it is literally a hack and slash. It's long and will definitely keep you busy. You'll also level your combat skills fast during that one. Take advantage of it and level your smithing, too.

Shivering Isles is gated for players level 15 and above (though recommendation is wait until 20 for better loot)

Yes I know it wasnt DLC but I just never did Fighters guild originally.

Also.....man I forgot (been like what 20+ years?), but are the Blades a guild/faction and are there actual quests involved or was it just a side story within the main quest?

Cool, this is what I needed to know.

The storytelling style of Oblivion largely predates those types of overlaps. You see more of it in Skyrim and Fallout 4. The guilds are all seperate and don't contribute directly to the main story. Same with the DLC. Fallout 3 had Broken Steel to continue the main storyline, and Operation Anchorage was mentioned in lore well before the DLC. Oblivion came before all of that, so everything is neat and tidy without any missable or alterable quests/stories.
id recommend the knights of the nine after you're 21, that's the max level for the aquired gear.

No it’s not. I started that way before level 15.

You can do anything from level 1, like the original, except probably Daedric quests. Grab a mod that re-levels leveled gear with for you so you aren't falling into the game's worst design error.

yes, the main reason to hold off on dlc is because after lvl 20~ the loot is at its best. and most cant be releveled to match your current level. KOTR has the advantage of being able to place the armor on a very specific mannequin to improve it, but it does not work for the weapons IIRC. Shivering Isles has ONE sword I believe, that legit upgrades itself every day/night but the rest of the items are based on the level you get them. and will never get any better on their own.
