There is lots of potential in theory, but they dont support modding officially in the remaster.
edit: but that the first mods appeared less than 24 hours after release speaks for itself.

Yes, despite not being officially supported

There were over 900 mods available for it last time I checked Nexus

Some of the console codes have changed, obviously. And there are some mods from the OG that can be ported into this one. In general I'd like to say yes, it is highly moddable. BUT the nature of those mods won't be the same as the OG for obvious reasons. We won't know for some time as more new mods appear. I doubt there will be many though. This is an OLD game and next to no one who has never played ever will. The origional modders have long since either stopped modding or moved on to newer cooler games to mod. If you wanna make one good on you. But don't expect it to get many downloads.
Different game engine so they would need to start some mods from the beginning.
Its 2 engines gamebryo and unreal 5 so to add new stuff need a editor wich can add new item in and have ue5 render it will likely take a long time before we see any mods adding unique items and new cells

It's not officially supported, so the answer is no. When there is no official support , it means that you are on your own if an update stops mods from working.

Seems like it's going well while modders finds the limits between creation engine and UE5 compatibility. I wouldn't expect anything huge like a total conversion mod of the game is all but everything else seems to be going smoothly. New spells, items, voice overs, Only things i haven't seen done yet are all new npc's in game and locations yet. If we can get those 2 then we can have an explosion of new unique quests and stories.

Same engine, different renderer

modders are able to use the official modding program from oldblivion, but there are some issues to resolve. it's certianly not just plug and play

Yes and No. It doesn't officially support mods at all but it can be modded some of the mods for the original game even work out of the box since it uses the same backed. If your adding new assets and things like that its doable but you'll need to understand how the old back-end and UE5 are mapping to each other and understand UE5 a bit.

If you look on Nexus you'll see plenty of mods already.

SO yes it can be modded somewhat easily but mods aren't supported.

A wee word of warning:

Skyrim has always been more stable for modding than classic Oblivion was. Nu-Blivion here is a frank's monster of two engines working in tandem so stability might be even less than classic. Or it could be better. We'll just have to wait and see.

Like alot of them are just saves

Good point well made.

There are plenty that aren't just saves though. for example.

Game-play changes, model changes, reskins, shader changes, engine tweaks, an animal companion, new hair styles.

In theory it's just as mod-able as the original Oblivion as far as I can see. But how stable it is when modded, well it's a fair point we will have to wait and see.

In theory it may be more mod-able since you can mod at both the Gamebryo and Unreal layers, that will also make some types of mods harder to do though, particularly for people who don't know unreal.

The games been out a week, the types of mods that take longer to make will obviously take longer to start appearing.
