Same dungeon, cave layout?
To tell the truth I missed Oblivion back in the day, so I tried the remaster on gamepass. After a few hours I noticed that almost every cave, fort, dungeon have 90% the same layout with chests in the same places. For me this makes exploration very boring. Will this change as I progress (more varied interiors) or will I have to explore the same cave after 100 hours?

no dungeon is the same, they may use the same set pieces but they are not the same at all

set pieces make game development more streamlined and makes sure things conform

edit: you're also comparing a game from 2006 to games of today with modern hardware

well, its not wrong to say they kind of seem similar since reused assets is a dev's favorite tool to speed things along. you're going to find a lot of dungeons and caves have similar walls or shapes. but generally speaking each one is a different cave layout to the next. so if you dont like repetitive interiors it could be an issue, but a lot of old games do this... even newer games still do it, just the reused assets are often less... symmetrical in appearance.

IMO, the game is best played actually doing quests in various cties, instead of randomly walking into dungeons.

For one, so many dungeons / ruins are actually used for quests, you may find yourself inside them again.

for two, many caves don't even have any worthwhile loot, so you could spnd 20 minutes clearing it out / exploring and find all of 60 gold and a health potion. Ruins are different in this case, but even still, i'd wait for quests guiding me there until i've exhausted everything i want to do quest wise, it's an open world but i find it's best as a guided open world. Just IMO

In part I agree with you in that a lot of the caves and ruins are used in different quests. The build I am playing the main quest with I travel between quest markers so if I see a point of interest on the map I go i explore it. This has gotten me 4 pieces of enchanted armor, one enchanted weapon and two enchanted rings at level 11. All these where found items, I think they might of adjusted thing in the remake as I don't remember that drop rate in the original game.

Yes, i do the same as you. I get a quest to go somewhere, i see some POI's on the way, i stop and explore if i feel like it, then keep moving toward a goal.

Honestly hard to tell if it was adjusted in the remake to me or not.
Not every dungeon is the same, you have caves, you have castles, you have allyied ruins, you have secret areas under city they are all different

I was in the sewers as part of the main quest last night, I just followed Brarus(sp?) so I wasn't really paying attention to the path. It became very annoying having to zoom in every time I wanted to look at the local map. I hope they bring the toggle option back to open the local map or at least once you have opened it and zoomed in it stays that way the next time you open it. So to get back to the world map you would have to zoom back out.
