Leveling past 30?
I can;t seem to understand this? so gear caps at lvl 30, and so do mob stats? but then if i get to lvl 50 enemies get harder still? how does this work exactly, why is going above lvl 30 bad?

no need to go past 30
By level 30 you've basically maxed out all the worthwhile stats so why keep leveling up? to put points in luck and personality?
Yes human NPCS scale with you.
bandits are always the same level
Guards are always 10 levels higher then you.

Certain enemies scale with your level infinitely, so your stats would remain mostly the same but some enemies would simply be gaining more health, it's mostly a matter of if you want yourself and enemies to just get tankier without damage improving.
Highwaymen and bandits will sooner rather than later be clad in full daedric gear and steamroll anything in their wake.
You guys really need to look into leveling and scaling mods

That happens with player though as well
you gain more and more HP as well, the issue is theres no scaling above level 100s of skills.
Which is the main issue meaning damage flat lines

Around level 30 is a good place to stop levelling for the reasons already mentioned. But now minor skills also contribute to your level up, so eventually you may be forced to either never sleep again, or get a new level.

The game has re-balanced enemy scaling. So it's not as bad as in the original. But for me, two problems persist:

  • Enemy variety drops dramatically at around late 20s, because the game doesn't have higher level configurations for a large number of enemies. You'll start seeing bandits everywhere.
  • While the player character damage flatlines, weapon damage does not. And you will get improved damage out of your weapons every third level. But you have to go and get them again.

Mods will deal with these two problems. There's a mod that will add more enemy variety (I didn't test this one yet). And there's a mod that will level equipment in your inventory.

Another viable option is to simply reduce the game difficulty. That's what we were all doing in the OG anyways. Gamebryo was never a good engine for combat anyways. Always felt clunky, janky and heavy. No one is going to get any recognition in this game by playing on the highest difficulties.

Those don't exist yet. The closest one is Ascension Remastered, but even that only scales loot and the gear enemies can have, as well as adding low level enemies into the possible spawn lists. Enemies still scale regardless of the mod being used right now. This may change later of course. But for now, there is no other option.

Balanced NPC Level Cap already exists
10 base monsters and most boss enemies will level up with you forever. At level 50 an ogre will take you like 200 hits to kill

I'm level 25 now, in KOTN armour and wep, but mobs, just bandits in caves are SOOOOOOO sponges on expert its like 50 hits if not more per mob to kill em.
