Steam discussions need a filter
I'm sick of all the ragebait posts. Steam needs to have a keyword filter to stop seeing anti-woke and "needs more LGBT" clown award slop. I just want to see actual game discussion and technical help on the forums for the damn game.

Edit:
The terminally online guy who was the first to reply gave such good advice that I had to use it. So thanks for that.

Yeah, this.

"block them" is a full time job in this place.

We shouldn't have to do this, is your point I very much agree with. For the love of god, Valve, put some reasonable controls in and save us from this madness.

We have a block function for a reason.
Also, the irony of you calling out ragebait posts while also being the OP.

I just block them and don't waste my clowns, especially the ones who are obviously clown farming.
I just posted in another thread the moderators should do a better job of moving those types of post into their own sub-forum.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It's not a block, it's a mute. A true block would nuke any interaction between the blocker and the person being blocked.

Hard agree. If we blocked a user there would no possible interaction so its a mostly useless function in and of it self, but the fact that there are so many rage bait threads and people from those threads going into other threads to derail the topic is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous. Any reasonable person can see why its a problem. Steam needs a more robust forum moderation team in my opinion, clearly they have too few managing too many discussion boards.
As for blocking I wish Steam would just omit their threads entirely..seeing blocked user or whatever's stupid and fills up the front page

I heard china has a good system to tell if you are good or bad boy. We should all move to China.

They just make brand new accounts constantly. Be better to remove the awards system imo..

Nah YOU move to China because obviously YOU are against the RIGHT for people to block idiots. I am a proud 24 year retired Army careerist. I earned the right to block you and your nonsense.
100%. Its just ragebait, followed by endless pointless arguments and debates, although its more just slinging hateful comments to each other. Steam discussions were already bad before awards, but now they're a total cesspit of terminally online children and man children.

For those of you who are prone to arguing, for now - block the user, its ragebait. If you ever engage, untick subscribe to discussion.

This pointless waffling benefits no one. I really wish there was a better way to moderate Steam discussions. Even most subreddits aren't this bad.
