Which difficulty are you playing?
The gap between Adept and Expert is enormous, I'm at level 2 and I'm struggling even with a wolf.

Well, i played until lvl 15 on Adept, but changed to Expert now because i felt it was a little easy.
The game was meant to be played on adept. Raising the difficulty is pointless.

Knowing the OG Oblivion difficulty slider very well, I just can't believe what they were thinking, by just diving it into five settings. In the old slider even moving it only five clicks towards the right from the center would make enemies deal 1.5 times more damage, while your damage done to enemies would only be 0.67 times than what would be the case for the middle position of the slider. I'm just baffled that this wasn't caught during testing

My game is broken. The difficulty is higher than it says it is, so Apprentice at the moment
Modded Expert, enemies deal x1.5 and I deal x0.75. The vanilla difficulty sliders arent set up right. Vanilla Expert is enemie x3, player x0.28, which is absurd to go from Adepts x1, x1 to that. Vanilla Master is even worse at x6 enemy and x0.167 player.

Only mods I'd recommend for a pure vanilla game are this one to fix the difficulty

and this one to level up quest items with you, for example you can get Chilrend early and have it be level appropriate and also have it level up with you so it stays relevant.

I play master with difficulty slider x 2.5 mod on nexus
Adept, i'll crank up when i get better gear.
I had it on Expert but man I was getting destroyed, so I went back to adept. Not sure if its class skill is the problem, But playing a Mage on Expert is no cakewalk like a Warrior on Expert.

yeah they made some kind of mistake with it
Started on master, stayed on master.
Conjuration and Alchemy are your friends :)
Oh bother most of you can't take the heat, as expected.
I always played the OG on max difficulty i.e. enemies deal x6 times the damage while you deal x1/6 of damage, from start to finish and never had any problems. But I got more than 2 brain cells, so I know how to deal with it.

The mistake was uncritically just dividing into five settings along the OG game's slider values. OG Oblivion does not operate with "Adept", "Expert" or "Master", instead you are free to choose where to set it at very fine increments. They clearly tried to "dumb down" the slider with some clear "labels", but since this was done completely uncritically, without looking at the actual numbers involved, they just broke it in principle. The slider was meant to be used with many increments in each direction from the center (which = "Adept" in the remaster).
