It's it just bad UE optimization, or is my system just underpowered
The Recommended Requirements suggest Ryzen 5 3600X with a Radeon RX 6800XT. With 32 RAM

I recently upgraded my system, last year, to a Ryzen 9 5900X with a Radeon RX 7600 Black. I have 32 RAM.

My processor surpassed the recommended, but my graphics just a bit short, but surely not enough to put everything only at Medium.

I can't even turn on Lumen without heavy stuttering, and can't even get 10fps. I can get Ultra running on a few things, like distance, but all shadow settings, foliage, textures, and the like have to be at Medium.

Is this a UE5 optimization issue, or perhaps is there a website or YT video for AMD specific settings? I followed one, but it didn't help, and I already had the same settings that were suggested.

It's UE5. The stutter happens on basically every system
Its ok not to always have everything on ultra lol..
ppl fr think something is wrong if not ultra 100%

there is someting wrong with the game a think,
Try starting the from the exe in the game folder and start with admin privilage, and download amd 25.4.1 drivers if it dont work and try again

I have rtx 5080, playing at decent native fps around 70-80, 130 with frame gen and this game still stutters from time to time

Locking fps to 60 doesn't change much, game still stutters in open world

UE5 is poorly optimized, but to make things worse, you have a graphics card that has 8 GB of VRAM. That will severely limit how high you can gom especially with textures. Once you exceed the VRAM buffer, the game will dump assets into system memory, which takes a LONG time to get back to your GPU, hence you're 10 FPS.

Definitely turn off any and all hardware RT settings. Hartware ray tracing on a 7600 is out of the question. The RX 9070/9070 XT are the first AMD cards capable of any kind of decent hardware RT.

Unreal Engine. Just simply ♥♥♥♥.
There are news articles on how bad the performance is and yet fools in this forum will claim it's fine, or otherwise shill for Bethesda/UE5.

Example:

Just STFU. The data speaks for itself. The game runs horribly when it's actually measured. Top of the line cards should be able to Ultra everything given the visual quality.

Sums it up.

Try adding the following text to your Engine.ini file that you can find somewhere in the documents folder.

[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.Lumen.DiffuseIndirect.Allow=0

[ConsoleVariables]
r.Lumen.DiffuseIndirect.Allow=0

This text will disable lumin which not only improve frames but also removed the stuttering for me entirely. As a bonus, the yellowish tint of the lighting will be gone too.

I've read an obscure tin-foil hat theory, the other day, that it's not a matter of bad optimization i.e developer related fault but rather an issue with the Unreal Engine itself i.e it is rigged to act up on purpose in the hopes of people spending on better hardware, even if the hardware is perfectly fine, to begin with i.e. the companies share the profits.

Not saying I believe it or don't believe it. Just throwing that out here.

I'm on a 3060ti and i7 10700k. Not the best by any means, but the game auto defaults me to high and for the MOST part I get like solid 60 fps honestly. However I get just crazy dips to the point I sometimes think my game is about to crash. Especially in the wilderness.
Thanks Everyone. I sent that from the phone at work, and am now home so I'll be going through this all. I had neglected to mention that I had already updated to the latest drivers (25.3.1 ... just checked).

I'm not worried about everything on Ultra. I was simply hoping for High, and stability. I also downloaded a mod called Oblivion R Ultimate Unreal Engine.ini which added a plethora of changes. It seemed to help last I played, but not a whole lot. I'll look into those other 2 settings.

Not sure if I want to get a new Gfx card yet, as I just upgraded a couple months ago. I'll upgrade again when the AM6 chipset is released. I hopped onto AM4 when it was released and refuse to renew the PC every chipset. LOL

4070 Super, Ryzen 7 5800X3D — and it still stutters like crazy while exploring the world. This clearly isn't a hardware issue. Something's broken with how the game streams or handles assets in open areas.

I think this game must be broken, I have been trying to run it on my 1060ti and i5-7500 on ultra settings, but it just doesn't work. Plz fix.

You are either a retarded troll, you just exposed yourself as someone who didn't read the opening post.
