Strange Audio Issue

Ok, I have the strangest bug that I cannot figure out what is wrong.

As I'm playing, the game will frequently cause my PC to ping the "hardware removed" sound effect over and over. Nothing is being removed. Nothing is being added. Only thing attached is my headset.

This is also the only game I have ever encountered this problem. I feel like it may be an issue with the menus, but I am uncertain.

If anyone has some troubleshooting ideas, would be totally open to it. (:
