Merchantile and Speechcraft as majors?
I used to use them a lot.

Is it worth to take them on major skills? Im a mage and already have 5 mage skills as major. Only left out illusion and conjuration.

I already have alchemy, destruction, restoration, alteration and mysticism as skills.

I dont want to use any armor nor melee weapon, nor ranged, nor stealth.

I get rich by murdering the rich. It's war.

No, they are pretty pointless and incredibly easy to level, they also level fast even as minor skills.

Don't chain yourself. If you are an economy-based person don't let anyone talk you out of it.

I don't know if they are worth taking as major skills. I haven't had any financial problems so far. The main advantage would be that you level them up faster. But wouldn't it be better to take a skill that can help you in battle? Alchemy maybe?

what you suggest? Athletics and acrobatics? Feel like they are the same. Should I go for illusion and conjuration?

As a mage you could take illusion and use a charm spell if you really need it. But getting people to like you (80+) isn't really a problem anyway.

everything mage related is fun

alchemy make you rich. You turn worthless ingredients into potions worth several dozen gold

Also, you can get inside an alchemy shop with like 200 golds in your pocket, buy whatever is dirt cheap and gives common combinable effects, spam craft potions and sell it back to the dude, and come out of the shop with several hundred more gold in pocket (at early alchemy level), up to several thousand more at high level.

No need to loot, no need to fight. Just pure PROFIT lmao

Yep, I know!

Im roleplaying an mage alchemist. I just got out of prison and Im mashing my potions and selling them living on the market district. I dont care what that old geezer told me. I have my own goals heheheh.

After that I will travel on a journey to learn all the schools of magic to become the number 1 mage on all cyrodill.

The reason for majoring personality skillls was just to get a head start on them. But no problem, upped 5 lvls of both already.

I majored in Speechcraft and Mercantile. Totally worth it. Once you master the persuasion and bartering systems, you can make tons of money. And the legit way, no lame exploits.
majoring non-combat skills is actually pretty smart, assuming you are actually raising combat skills faster than your non-combat skills.

I would. I know from oblivion that raising magical skills is not that hard BUUUT, the initial boost seem to work a bit different. I dont mind starting as a novice on personality skills.

The only 2 ones besides magic I wanted were these two anyway.
