DON'T REACH HIGH LEVEL BEFORE KVATCH
Seriously, all of the mobs that were previously there are now all replaced by Daedroth, Spider Daedras and Stone Atronachs. They are all damage sponges even at adept (standard) difficulty. Don't get me started on the other mobs inside of Kvatch itself. It was like this in the OG as well, idk if the xivilai can knock down or paralyse anymore though. At least it hasn't happen to me yet.
People saying Adept is too easy are right... until it comes to the daedric foes. They get seriously tough.

I went into the portal at 20 and it was fun fighting all the atronachs, clannfears and Daedra, I find the Obliv Portals to be most fun at higher levels.

Well... Yeah that's how the scaling works, the higher your level the stronger the enemies and certain thresholds spawn stronger monsters (you get mountain lions instead of wolves after a certain point and bandits with daedric/elven/glass armor and weaponry).
The best part was opening the gate; so many clannfears :dinorob:

I think I was level 18 when I first tried to break the siege of Kvatch in the remaster and good God, those guards never stood a chance

I learned that lesson decades ago.

The enemies scale with your level. The guards that are supposed to help don't

It seems like they had in mind originally players would start the main quest then do side things like the guild for a bit then go back to the main quest for a bit switching back and forth. I think most players get focused on one thing whether that is the main quest or becoming the head of guilds.

I did it on lvl 6 and they never stood a chance. Either way they're cannon fodder.

They had gotten rid of knocking down and paralyzing moves in the remastered.

I level up and do tons and tons of side quests before touching the main one. I want it to be harder. IMO it should be harder. Having those sorts of enemies makes it more believable for a full blown invasion.

No. I have been paralyzed and knocked down several times. Still exists.

I don't see the issue. Getting packed up by a Spider Daedra isn't exactly the worst way to go out.
of course you go there high level. It's all of the fun! Seeing the guards being knocked around is fun. You can take that Fighters Guild dude, Oreyn I think his name is (during the azani blackheart quest) with you. He is essential, so gets knocked about good and loses all his armor, but still is in the fight all the time. And finally summon Headless Zombies again and again while shooting your arrows in the thick of it. I loved the Siege of Kvatch. I replayed it several times back then (fought, reloaded, fought, reloaded...)
