Adept tanky enemies
is it me or do enemies feel really tanky in adept? like I'm not against challenge and can hold up to some extent but when swarmed it turns into long winded 15+ slashes to kill one out of the group, I'm new to oblivion so wanted to see if its a bug or some overly tuned level scaling or something. I don't like apprentice diff cause it makes every enemy like super weak then there is no like proper in between or reasonable tanky to me imo

You haven't been leveling correctly.

to add I currently use the crusader set with crusader sword and can fight but there is still those levels of tankiness that is annoying at times, I swapped to it after my stealth crim really wasn't working out in the damage department

They changed it a bit from the original but yeah, enemies scale to your level so you really need to focus on leveling just one primary combat skill early on and putting as many points into the requisite stats for the weapon you're using (strength for longswords, greatswords, and blunt; agility for shortswords, daggers, and bows) you also want to level endurance early as for every 10 points in it you gain 1 extra hp every time you level up (regardless of if you put points into it that level or not).

Changes to the leveling system also took warrior builds from bad to worse as in the original you could avoid leveling up until you had sufficient skills in your combat stats (by taking things like magic as major skills instead) but now it's easy to accidentally gain levels through athletics and mercantile.

If all else fails avoid leveling up anymore until you gain higher skill in your primary weapon.
(btw axes count as "blunt")

They fixed endurance so it now works retroactively.

so far its not very good. im on expert and its just ♥♥♥♥. adpet is generally too easy normally save for enemys with high hp or armor if you are in places you shouldnt be yet. but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ every foe from a rat to a random ass bandit are both hp sponges AND they deal crazy damage to me. this games overhyped as ♥♥♥♥

yeah the diffculties are really off mainly because adept enemies don't do enough
On Adept, once you hit high levels the enemies will scale well above what your stats can accomplish. Everything just becomes tanky.

Xivilai, Valkynaz, Bandits, Liches etc.

Even with 100 Blade, 100 Str AND magic stuffs, enemies take a lot of whacking whilst hitting quite hard. The broken durability nonsense doesn't help either, because armour will break in about 5-10 hits.
