EASILY WORTH THE ASKING PRICE: Thank You Bethesda and Virtuos.
I keep seeing a lot of people complaining about the price of this game. ( Among other things)

Where have you been the last 5-7 years? Are you really calling the Oblivion Remaster too expensive?

Literally the only game to come out any time in recent memory that has even close to the amount of love put into this game is the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

We have been getting absolute early access quality slop handed to us for $70 on a regular basis, for the last 5-7 year, with some of those games still being fixed 5 years later..(Cough..CyberPunk..Cough..2077)

Oblivion Remaster comes in @ $50 and you are complaining?

$50 bucks for an absolutely stunning looking game with hundreds of hours of play time with All DLC's included and QOL improvements.

Hell...they didn't even need to include the DLC's and it would have still been a steal, simply based on the current quality most Devs are putting out(Utter Swill).

While other Devs sit around the meeting table talking about how much they hate their player base, moderating their forums filled with thousands of angry players who paid full price for a 30% complete game all while trying to configure the best camera angles for their new "BEAR SEX" feature or making sure every main protagonist for the last 5 years sends a political message.

Bethesda secretly remasters Oblivion and blows everyone in the industry out of the water.

And you want to call the Oblivion Remaster too expensive?

Let's do some simple Math:
=========================

$50 For a remastered 20 year Old Game is actually AMAZING>

-The original game "19" years ago, with no DLC Cost $49.99.

-You are getting a completely Remastered Windows 10/11 ready version that looks Gorgeous, PLUS INCLUDES ALL DLC.. for the same $49. 99.

-So given the rate of current inflation, this game should cost at least $60.00, + the Cost for Each DLC as well, so that should easily cap $100.00 but they did it for half that.

-Now if you also compare this games Value for the money compared to most other titles within the last say...5 years, you can easily see $49.99 is a complete steal, as this game has easily 200+hours of content in it, while, most other games released today are about 40-50 hours, and they cost $70.

- Next your going to try and counter with> BUT IT'S A 20 YEAR OLD GAME:steamsad:
And I will remind you that in that 19 years, other people have been born, who have never played Oblviion, or were turned off by it's dated graphics, So that means they are experiencing this game for the first time, and are more than willing to pay $49.99 for a feature rich 200+ hour RPG made with more love than they have ever seen in their gaming lives.

In closing: I suggest you go play Veilguard instead. I think that game will be a better fit for you. I hear it's on sale.... again.

I don't think it's too expensive. I got my money's worth. It took a lot of effort to make this remaster. To be honest I didn't think it was possible, but here we are. It's quite a feat imo, especially for a game of this size and scope.

I do hope though, that they can get around to fixing the bugs in the quests, as there are so, so many. The Thieves Guild questline had me using all kinds of workarounds to finally finish it.

Yes, there are pre-existing bugs that have been there for 19 Years. And that will take Bethesda to fix them, or an Unofficial Patch Mod..(fingers Crossed)

That's because it's essentially a virus that you are installing in your brain if you play it. :lunar2019laughingpig:

I would have paid $70.. but $100 is stretching it for me. I never pay more than $70 for a game and if it costs more than that, I'll just wait for a Sale.

I'm not saying the game isn't worth $100 mind you. I just have to stick to my principles regarding how much a game is worth to me. Especially with Steam where every 3-4 months we have major sales.
Yep, worth every penny and then some with the mod scene.

I'm curious how much your TOTAL purchases add up vs how much you've actually played all those games.

I was SHOCKED to discover how much on "sales" i spent over the years only to never play them, or play them very little because I just didn't have the time.

I told myself a couple years ago that I won't buy a game unless I'm going to put in at least 20 hours in the first month. That's why I bought Oblivion Remastered. I played the original, still play Skryim and KNOW I'll actually play this.

(I've got THOUSANDS of dollars in games I barely played. sigh.)

Definitely, I am already using like 5-6 mods right now, and the game is better than EVAR!!:AOEKnight:

I am kinda in the same boat, but for different reasons.. I have too many games. Like 856+ in my library but on average most of those games I only buy on Sale, at 65%-75% off during the big sales.

The problem is not limited time for me.. Its that the games I love to play are on constant Rotation, and consume tons of time.

For instance:

500+ hours in Middle Earth Shadow of War. (Multiple Play Throughs)
1500+ hours in GTA Online
500+ Hours in Skyrim (Multiple Play Throughs)
500+ Hours in Pretty much Every Disgaea game.
650+ Hours in Valheim ( 1 Play through on 1 Local Server World, Single Player Only)
500+ hours in Fallout 4 (It really never ends does it)
500+ hours in Total War Warhammer 2
500+ Hours in Avorion ( 1 Play through on 1 Local Server Galaxy, Single Player Only)
500+ Hours in 7 Days to Die ( 1 Play through on 1 Local Server Map, Single Player Only)

(NOTE: Valheim, Avorion, and 7 Days to Die, are all currently still in Progress. But have taken a Back Seat to Conan Exiles currently, and Oblivion Remastered)

Honestly this list can go on and on, but the point is, I like my old favorites and constantly go back to them. So all the new stuff I buy, goes into the Library and sometimes sits for ...YEARS..before I try them..

Funny story.. but the truth is sometimes by the time I try a game I've purchased the game/community has already been dead for years. But I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, because it just means they got most of the bugs out of it by the time I get around to actually playing it. :steamhappy:
Still the Best game release in the last 5 years.. !!
And I mean it. " Does anybody want a Peanut".. -Andre The GIANT ~The Princess Bride
There may come a day when another game is better than Oblivion Remaster.
But not this day.....
