Still no update/patch for performance?
I'm seeing so many people with performance issues its crazy, i have friends on hardware just outside of the system requirements struggling to play the game at all. I have a friend on a 4090 who can hardly play the game in 1440p with a steady framerate. I know UE5 is the worst thing to happy to gaming since fortnite but id have thought we'd have seen an update by now for something. Even the PC gamespass version has had 2 updates for performance so far.

Unfortunately not, its so frustrating wanting to play something, paying to play something and then not being able to play it properly.

YES, BUT...are you ACTUALLY PLAYING the game?????? Please remember, this game was NEVER OPTIMIZED to be played at 4K- not THEN, NOT NOW- Please stop being (along with EVERY OTHER thread gushing with mock outrage at the game's (surprising? hell NO) inability to actually generate useful FPS at 4K (or even 2K) , and meeting the base definition of insanity, and turn your settings DOWN ...and please enjoy the game....
I literally can't even adjust the resolution.. regardless if I choose full screen/ borderless/ windowed. I am on Win 11, Intel i9-9900k CPU, Intel Arc B580 GPU, 32 GB RAM

I just want to lower the resolution so I can play with better performance

Nope. And i don't think we will get one, considering so many people are defending the performance of this game.

"Just buy a 5090 bro, are you poor or something?"

I'd check and see if the game is using a DEFAULT GPU (such as a hardwired low-grade built in INTEL gpu, that is INCAPABLE of dynamic resolution scaling), instead of a custom GPU - you might want to check....

The community didnt set the system requirements Bethesda/Virtuos did. If a player meets those requirements and is unable to get a playable experience from then that is the developers fault. Somewhere internally they came to the conclusion that the game will work on the provided requirements but clearly it isnt. I can't speak for the original game but times have changed and people use these system requirements as guidance to whether or not they should buy the game.

I myself am playing the game yes but im on a PC that is capable of running it, i just feel for everyone who had bought this game and can't run it including my own friends

yeah i myself am on a 5090 but that is not a realistic thing for most people to own. It sucks because im seeing so many people not able to play this game who meet the system requirements listed by the developers and i just feel so bad for everyone unable to play. I know what you mean though PC elitists are the worst. I'm just curious how or why the devs listed the specs they way they did. Thats not to say the requires a 5090 to begin with. If the only way your game is playable is with a £2000+ GPU you game is broken.

is fame gen not working for your friend. i mean i got it on at 4k, high graphics, medium hardware ray traced, with vsync force on in nvidia experience app, to get rid of that horrible distortion every time i move. It's running at 60fps as i locked it to that. i have a 4080 super. I don't see why your friend can't run it ultra with that card with frame gen on. Also the reason the update haven't been released yet is, because it broke the graphics setting for everyone on gamepass.

Nah...I'm guessing it ONLY broke those who somehow had FORCED the game to run in 4K mode.....which its NOT designed to do....

absolutely unequivocally wrong, everyone i know who bought this game are 1080p/1440p gamers and more than meet the system requirements. I have a friend on a 4090 who is barely managing 60fps at 1440p max settings. An RTX 4090 should be creaming this game at 1440p No problems at all.

Try out the "Ultimate Engine Tweaks" mod on Nexus. It's just .ini file replacement. People with low-medium end hardware are seeing significant performance improvements, and higher end rigs are getting fewer frame drops/stutter. Hardware Lumen was unplayable on my 7800X3D/4090 prior to using this mod.

You just have to download one file and replace the original game version. It's incredibly easy and there are instructions on the main page.

https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/35?tab=description

Just remember to backup the original file as a precaution. (Create a new folder titled Engine ini Backup and move the original file into there instead of deleting it.)

Why wouldn't it work? Lol the ini isn't exclusive to nvidia.
