Shame it is UPSCALING/FRAME-GEN dependant
It's really frustrating to have no option other than to enable one of the upscaling methods to run the game at a good FPS. The added input lag and ghosting are horrible. I miss the days when native resolution was the way to go.

It's really frustrating that the GPUs and games are leaning towards more and more fake and upscaled frames, you pay for extremely expensive hardware that depends on these features to deliver good frame pace at the detriment of crystal clear resolutions + supersampling.

You just need to boot an old game like the og Oblivion, for instance, to see the brutal difference, zero input lag, zero ghosting, crystal clear resolution.

Looks like nowadays people care more for 100+ frames than having the game look good and running without upscaling and so on.

I use DLAA and Frame Generation, but I turned off Vsync and use uncapped frames (instead capped them in Nvidia Control Panel).
No input lag here. :wellok:

I'm not using frame gen and I play it just fine on high :lunar2019piginablanket: DLSS balanced.

seems to apply to almost every ue5 title. I use to think it was bad development , but it is clearly just a shocking bad engine

Yes, I know, me too, I'm just pointing out that games look way better without those jank twaking features, I just wish that this remaster wasn't one of these games that suffers from this curse.

Even if you state that there's no input lag at all and no ghosting, you only need to boot an older game to notice the difference. After a while using these tools, you become accustomed to the lag and stop noticing it, but it is always present.

No lazy game developers care about 30/60 fps targets for ports and consoles while screwing over PC gamers. Gamers very much care about both fidelty and high framerate. (well, gamers that have experienced a game over 60 fps anyways...)

no lag gen tech or upscaling...all settings on ultra - 8 year old CPU and 2.5 year old GPU. FPS from 60-100+ most of the time.

I'm all for trashing crappy deployments of Unreal like the scammers did at GSC with Stalker 2 - Heart of Con-noble...but this is not a bad at all.

Sadly, there's a noticeable ghosting, especially at the end when you are in the imperial City, which must be related to the TAA. It would be nice to use a supersampling AA instead.

Like I said, I'm not complaining that my game is not running fine on my rig, frustration comes with the needed use of these not-so-ideal feature that blurs the screen, but it looks like everyone praises these features nowadays.

Not sure on the ghosting. I use TAA, 1080, full native, no vysnc refresh rate @ 360hz. It's crisp.
as soon as dlss come out it was only a matter of time before all games required help to hit frame rates.

i personally hated DLSS/fsr/xee when they come out . i could see the writing on the wall look at nivdia a 5070 is as fast as a 4090 with dlss on and fake frames. it also enabled nvidia to screw us all on really bad upgrades for 3 generations now AND AMD follwoing suite.

dlss and fsr need to be phased out and devolopers and nvidia/and need to optimise better and give us better upgrade paths that dont cost £2k pounds

I dropped my resolution from 4k to 1440 and turned all settings from ultra to high, no frame gen and now I have a solid 120 indoors and 75-90 outdoors so I'm pretty happy with that.

pretty much normal, cards are not being sold for playing in raster anymore, raster times are gone
Trvor Apr 28 @ 7:40am
60fps stable high setting no upscaling or framgen, 6700xt

edit: 1440p
