Alchemy is a great money maker
Been picking every herb I can see while out adventuring, stored it all in my imperial city shed, rinse and repeat a few more times.

Then today finally got it all out of the chest, made about 200 really terrible potions, then sold them all, made about 4000 gold in one go, leveled up mercantile and alchemy a whole bunch.

Probably going to be even more profitable later on when I get master alchemy.

Same, it was a great major skill choice. It's made me rich and I have lots of combat buffs ready
I heard it crashed a lot when using it, so I avoided it so far. :(

Any troubles mixing some potions / poisons?

Yeah it crashed a lot for me too at first. I just mentioned in another thread that it became much more stable when I moved the directory onto a solid state drive

Ever since its debut in Morrowind, Alchemy has been an S-tier skill, it'd be amazing even if potions were sold dirt cheap. Not a bad non-combat alternative to make money.

No problems at all for me.
@Macona
Thanks. Have it on an SSD to begin with. :D

I just found my first Master equipment (Mortar and pestle) in the last loot sack at the end of one Oblivion gate (that sack directly nearby the Sigil Stone).

So I'll jump into Alchemy either today. :mecury:

this, alchemy is indeed s-tier.

people complaining about the difficulty and leveling have never played an elder scrolls other than skyrim, and it shows.

i can list a 100 reasons why skyrim is one of the most detracted releases of the series

Yeah, tomatoes and grapes are my main source of income.

Don't even need to do all that work.

Just buy every food item from every Inn you come across, they all (except Garlic) mix into Restore Fatigue potions. They start out at 10g a potion, and now that my alchemy is getting close to Lv50, and I found a few pieces of alchemy equipment, said potions are selling for like 45g a pop now.

Buy ingredients for 3-4 gold, sell potion for 45g. That's like 35-38g profit.

I just go to all the farms and collect all the carrots, corn, tomato etc and then make potions out of them and sell. Once Alchemy hits lvl 100 you can make those potions of just one ingredient which will double your profit!

Then just wait in imperial city 3 days and do it again.
I always earn money with enchanting, but it was way more profitable in morrowind than here, since some soul gems costs 60-100 thousends gold, the other thing is installing the mod that gives merchants more money. In oblivion most expansive soul gems can be sold for 700 gold which is a joke.
so watcha gonna do with all that gold and an over-leveled character? xD throw coins at full daedric bandits?
