Taking Care of Lex Glitch fix

This is the fix for anyone that tries to complete the quest on PC and the stranger keeps saying "why are you bothering me" even though you waited a day or more for him to complete the list forgery.

Here is my fix:
1)Move to a major city other than Anvil.Personaly i went to Cheydinhal
2)Command:
set timescale to 10000
3)Then after 2 mins use command:
set timescale to 30
4)Go back to Anvil and talk to the stranger.

This took me ages to fix. Such an annoying game breaking bug! Hope i helped

bro literally gave advice to bricked my entire playthru.. thanks.. maybe put a disclaimer before telling people to use the commands feature.

It didn't even fix my quest and it still broke my full achievement run. 32 hours down the drain.

Hello, I also got this bug and solve with console command. About the achievement issue, you can try the "universal achievement unblocker oblivion remaster" Mod in nexus mod, I use it and I can get the achievement with the console command on.

Hey guys, I’m seeing a lot of people say they can’t get achievements because they opened Console. There is a mod that disables this called “Universal Achievement Unblocker” on Nexusmods.com. It’ll fix any future achievements on the save but any achievements you would’ve gotten will not be reacquired. I just YouTubed how to install it, it’s really straight forward.

Dude the game tells you this before it happens. It's in small print but it does tell you. Don't blame OP for your ignorance to details.

Put these two commands into console (This will Disable cheats which can be prevented using a mod)
Altar.Cheat.AllowSetStage True
setstage TF07Lex 40
