Here is a local map tip.

If you use the local map often in dungeons you wont have to use scroll wheel more than once after pressing M and then zooming in.

If you exit map then you can just press TAB key to instanly access the local map again.


And if you have issues locating items in dark places there is the light spell which can be enchanted on a piece of gear.

I also noticed that if you press M and scroll wheel simultaneously, it takes you straight to the local map.

Maybe we can make this thread into tips for new players? If yes i will add my 2 pence about leveling magic skills.
There is a place with 6-7 npcs crowded in one place, at 11 am to 13 pm in Bruma Olav's Tap and Tack inn.
Restoration: make target area group healing spell at spell creation altar and spam it at the crowd.
Alteration: make water breathing target area spell and spam.
Mysticism: make dispel area target spell and spam at crowd.
Illusion: make target area charm spells and spam at crowd.
After lowering mana to zero wait one hour from 11 to 12. Then wait 23 houres to be at 11 am again.
You need a crafted spells for this method so i recommend doing it after entering arcane university, or buying candles for altar in frostspire tower.

M and scroll wheel is a great tip thanks. Using that now also for even quicker map access.
