29 FPS single thread CPU bottleneck with 9800x3d in some areas @ lowest settings with hardware lumen on....

What's your graphics card?
Also, I read that some people have benefited from using process lasso on those CPU's to set core affinities.
You didn't say what gpu you're using nor the drivers. Nvidia 576.02 driver will put cpu at 100%. Going back to 572.83 will make the cpu work correctly.

Luv process lasso but works best on weaker cpus. So stopped using it myself.

So here's 576.02 driver. cpu usage at 85% and does run at 100% initially. Horrible performance and ghosting if you select latest for dlss models aka K preset.

572.83 driver. Updated pic below for like vs like comparison. 28% cpu usage

572.83 driver but using framegen this time with cpu usage at 30%

So i know you have 9800x3d cpu. Just showing that it multi threads fine and that the latest nvidia driver is fubar for this game. Game does not like dlss 310 files of any sort either.

lol I got 1080ti and I can play with pretty much lag free after the zones load in 1-2 secs ( not on SSD)
Also I got 4 cores out of the recommended 6 cores.

I feel like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ - but Im running past all these chads with 93240GTAXROGZ Millionair graphicscards.

did you miss the part where the title said CPU BOTTLENECK? it's 5070 ti but its irrelevant here since it was idling at that moment at like 60% usage

I said CPU bottleneck, do you have any conceptual idea what a bottleneck is?

because 4k would definetely affect the cpu bottleneck.

All these muppets "my 486 runs the game on 8k 300 fps your PC is sh*t lol"
Instead of listening them, watch the DF video about the game. They have tested it with the best hardware money can buy, and they were struggling to keep 60 fps on 1440p in a lot of areas, not to mention the stuttering caused by area cell pop in.

it's even worse, because they also throw in framegen and whatever then argue that playing at 40 fps (from framegen, 15 without) is perfectly fine and very normal smdh smdh smdh
running the game on my 6700k....it's not completely maxed out, even tho it's below the minimum specs

Why are poeple so quick on jumping on UE5 when it's the actual core game code in the old engine that's causing these perf issues.

The state of this remaster is real sad, one would hope they would improve on the issues it had 20 years ago, it sure does not look like they did.

Because it is UE5. The culprit is hardware Lumen, and becuase of how Sweeney' and co designed their god awful rengine disabling said Lumen makes the game look borderline worse than og oblivion cuz a lot of the basic ♥♥♥♥ like SSAO UE5 just doesnt do without hardware lumen. And with hardware lumen on u get dips below 30 fps on literally the best hardware in the world.

No, not quite. The old core game is still in there (in the files), UE5 is used as a graphics wrapper for it. Much in the same way GTA Definitive is done, for example.

Tbh.. the game runs very well UNDER spec on my 5800x3d/5080... it is just painful... I don't think they did much testing before release, at least not on varying hardware.

Then again, Unreal engine is known for its horrible, horrible performance when not fully optimized.

But this is rediculous. the Game should never have been released in this state.

And now we are week in and not a single patch or update..... or at least confirmation that they recognize there are major problems.

The "Ultimate Engine Tweaks" mod significantly improves performance with hardware lumen and generally reduces stutter.
