The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

For Oblivion Remastered's future update(s), I would like to request a new difficulty setting: hand-placed loot, enemies and quests.
I'm someone who grew up with console JRPGs from the PS1 and PS2 days. And then in my teens, I played a bit of WoW, and a lot of WoW TBC and a little of WoW Wrath. And enemies and loots back then didn't scale to my player level, they were hand-placed.

And then, in my late-teens/young-adulthood I decided to visit visit Bethesda's back catalogue: Fallout 3, Oblivion and then skyrim. and I thought I enjoyed those games back then, but then I slowly realized ''wait a minute, I've been to this place before, where did these new enemies come from? And where did the weaker enemies go? And why is everyone wearing epic loot all of a sudden?'' I went online and realized these games got something called level scaling. So when I level up in these games, the enemies will level with me, mostly completely defeating the purpose to why I play RPGs, to get stronger and overpower a previously difficult boss or level.

And then when I heard that Oblivion would be remastered, an important question popped in mind ''will enemies this time again scale to my level?'' and, unfortunately, the answer is: ''Yes.''
...sigh. the developers said that they've mixed Oblivion's and Skyrim's level scaling. But level scaling is still level scaling nonetheless.

But then I heard that the developers ''might'' add new things with future updates. If that's so, then I would like to request a new difficulty setting: hand-placed loot, enemies and quests. Maybe they can call it ''classic RPG''-mode.

You know, there's ''Novice'', ''apprentice'', ''adept'', et cetera, et cetera, and then there could be ''classic RPG''. With this new difficulty setting Oblivion Remastered's enemies, loot and quest's will be hand placed, just like Classic Wow, Gothic 1 and 2 and and so on. And also, hopefully, if it isn't too much to ask, I'm also hoping this ''classic RPG''-mode will also add sleep and hunger to the game (AKA survivalism). But be warned though, if players would select this difficulty setting for a created character then there is no way to go back to adapt or novice-mode. You have to create a new character for that.

With this new feature setting, this way, I feel, can appease both crowds: those who like to have the level scaling, and those who likes a grindier RPG experience of the old (hopefully with food and sleep) with the ''Classic-setting'' it could be a win-win for all parties.

What are your thoughts and opinions, everyone?

Do you really want a grindy version of Oblivion? I like the game, but a lot of exploration feels like a chore simply because of the super basic dungeon design. Do you really want to run trough those repetitive tunnels and struggle for better loot so you can run trough the same tunnels a bit faster?

I like the towns and talking to NPCs, doing quests, but Oblivion specifically has this procedural generation feel to it that I do not appreciate.

I feel like you are asking for a dungeon crawler type of game and it would be fun to see one in TES universe.

I would like them to undo a couple alterations to select clothing items. All clothing is gender neutral now, meaning certain clothing that once looked different for a male vs female character now looks the same on both. Most notably the Huntsman's vest and the Scruffy boots. Also, i dont know if vampire's are SUPPOSED TO BE BALD after stage 2 Vampirism, but that's pretty awful to deal with for me personally. Definitely an unwelcome change.

If you'd like to play Oblivion as it could be, then no worries if Bethesda goes through with this update. You can just play Oblivion with adapt, expert or legendary. It won't affect you.

As for when you brought up if I wanted to grind the same dungeon, not exactly so. I was thinking more like... Have you heard of Nehrim for Oblivion (2006) or Enderal for Skyrim? Those overhaul mods are exactly what I wanted in Oblivion and Skyrim: no level scaling and hand placed enemies and loot.
