Getting Vampirism seems broken

I fought a vampire and did not contract Porphyric Hemophilia, at least it didnt say I contracted or show under statuses, but I still received the first dream that told me I had a dream about being a vampire, I drank a cure disease potion and visited an altar. I noticed under active affects I have "vampirism" with a magnitude of 25? And now I can ask about the cure . . . yet I never got the other dreams or nor do I feel like Im an actual vampire. What the actual f is going on . . because it looks like Im already a vampire . . yet no option to feed . .

I think the way they changed the notification ui, they broke the effects and events that are important for you to see.

For instance when you get tutorials in the original it's a pop up window, but now they made it on the side corner.

Yeah its completely broken. I had nothing to indicate I was turning into a vampire until AFTER I had turned into a vampire and gotten my first dream, now im ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ locked into being a vampire and have to do this asinine quest to remove it because they dont know how to code, how could something this awful be missed. ♥♥♥♥ me for not having more hard saves

You missed the popup for the disease. If you're in doubt, you can check active effects by hitting X? on the character tab.

You'll see all diseases showing there, including PH.

If you've had the dream it's too late, you're a vampire. If you ever see that dream and don't want to be a vampire IMMEDIATELY load from the last save before you rested and cure disease.

I can't remember if it showed the actual "Porphyric Hemophilia" or not, but it did at least hit my stam bar with a reduced amount in red under character tab before I turned.

How I know its also broken is that i have 25% vamprisism and NONE of that +5 attributes under active affects are showing on my character stats, Im also missing hunters mark or w/e. Ridicilous. Cant even use the perks

If you can't be bothered to do the quest (because who plays RPGs for doing quests, huh?) just use the infinite supply of Purgeblood crystals to cure vampirism?

The disease pop up never showed. I fought the vampire for the arena champion quest and I was looking out for it.

I checked active effects multiple times and never saw myself diseased either.
