Why say it's fine when it isn't ???
I thought about writing this on the thread about performance, but this question deserves it's own thread.
After seeing Digital Foundry's analysis of this remaster, I want to ask everyone:
Why are people lying to themselves and others saying: "it runs fine" when the hard truth is that the game runs very very bad?

Because it is fine for the majority of people.

Because for us, it DOES run fine?
Because it runs fine for plenty of people?

My game runs at rather solid 60 fps (I have it frame capped at that level), no noticeable stutters, overall high settings but i have admittedly turned some less noticeable things down.

Now don't get me wrong, i am not saying it doesn't have performance issues for plenty of users, it obviously does. But its equally obvious that it works just fine for some as well.

Because it does run fine. I'm getting 60-70fps most of the time, 100-120 in dungeons and indoor locations and I only get that stutter sometimes when walking through the world, I get it along the path to Skingrad but I don't get it around the imperial isle itself.

It's far from unplayable, there's nothing here that will make me stop playing. I've seen much worse when Cyberpunk first launched.

My PC is better than yours. :p

I’m getting the exact same FPS.

1 crash in 8 hours of gameplay.

Granted I spent 2 days updating every single thing like drivers etc but it runs perfectly for me, but people should be checking everything is up to date by default so they shouldn’t complain if they haven’t done that.

"Fine" is a strong word to describe this game's performance. I am getting around 40~50ish FPS in cities, 60 FPS in dungeons and between 20~35 FPS in the open world. Minus 7~15 FPS while it rains. Playing this game for 30 hours made me buy a new CPU. Fingers crossed it will get better then.

On a brighter side, the only crashes I've experienced were linked with using console commands. So there's that.

For most it does run fine. Your type loves to fudge numbers. You probably just got back from a protest that had three people that you will lie about too.

Because my Steam account has more than 1 game.

Just to put this out here early. I think that anyone saying that it works well for "most" or that "most" has performance issues is taking that "most" out of their ass (on both sides).

Unless you have actual hard data or statistics on it you are just basing it on a feeling or impression.

Its apparent that some have issues (even with good systems well within the recommendations), its apparent that it works fine for others (even in some cases where they apparently have worse systems). That is it.

I mean, one of those groups has to be more than the other. If 51% are playing fine then yeah, it's a majority playing fine. Considering the game has an 80%+ approval rating, just on Steam, it's definitely more playing fine than not.

I get 20% CPU usage and 50% GPU (playing on low to avoid crashes), but it crashes on nearly every exit to the overworld, closing oblivion gates, you name it. Its like old oblivion when it came out. But I think worse. I can try three four times with luck it doesnt crash. Loading into smaller areas, no problem. But overworld -> crash in three out of four.
Thats the only game with these issues. My tipp: there's something wrong with the vram usage.

Unless you have hard data you don't know what side have the most users :P That is the whole point, people are basing it solely on their impression.

I am inclined to agree that most players are likely playing it fine, but i also admit to having no hard data to base that on. It being based more on impression and circumstantial evidence (like the approval rating).

I am still satisfied with my Radeon RX 6800 and 32GB RAM. But running the Remastered on a Ryzen 5 3600 was certainly not an enjoyable experience. Abysmal even one might say. A Ryzen 9 5900x should hopefully solve it for the coming years.
