Are Ayleid Wells bugged?

I took the Atronach birthsign, and am thus fairly dependant on Ayleid Wells, particularly for magic training.

When I use one, it works as expected. If I then travel to another one (or even wait a day and attempt to re-use the same well, after it has regenerated), it does absolutely nothing.

I DO get the popup, saying the well has replenished my mana. But there is no animation with the hand reaching out, no buff, and no change to my mana.

IDK if you've already worked your problem out, but I wanted to mention the solution to my problem in case anyone else is dealing with this: if Ayleid Wells aren't working and you're Atronach-signed, check the Character tab to see if you're at negative Magicka instead of 0 Magicka left. IDK what happened because I've never leveled or been afflicted with disease, but I somehow reached -24 Magicka and any time I tried to refill at a Well, the popup claimed it worked but I never gained any Magicka. I had to use a restore potion first to get out of the negatives, and then Ayleid Wells went back to working as usual.
