Poisons overpowered?
I am playing on expert, level 7, blunt 54, strength 90.
It took me 25-30 hits to down a Dremora with a steel warhammer....
Then i use a poison that does 3pts for 12seconds, I just made it with nightshade and some other ingredient...
And the dremora dies with 4hits... wtf is going on? Can somebody explain the damage calculation here? He also took a massive amount of damage on the second hit, I thought that poisons in oblivion only apply to the next hit and then are consumed?

Now stack it with other bs
I think when you hit the enemy the second time you will see the health bar update from damage taken during that time. So if you poison, then wait for the poison to finish and then hit again it will seem like your attack did tons of damage even though it was the poison.

Difficulty scaling on expert makes you deal 3 times less damage but it doesn't affect poisons or minions that's why poisons and minions are op on higher difficulties. Just play on adept and everything gonna be as expected. Until you gonna break the game with your build at least. Game becomes very easy at high levels due to broken mechanics

you can run naked on adept and nobody will hurt you. its extremely easy.

I think its because your damage drop to 1 damage when they calculate your weapon damage. Since poison affected by poison resist and elemental resist and the enemy you are fighting have none you deal a full poison damage. Probably poison is not affected by difficulty multiplier thats my guess.
Now youre ready for master where teh fun begins

Alchemy has consistently been a busted skill in The Elder Scrolls, including ESO. It's also consistently boring to engage with, but the rewards are always worth the monotony.

It only gets better from here.

Poisons are always DOT so a lot happens after the application on your weapon is used up. The comment about enemy HP not visually updating poison dmg until a subsequent hit sounds about right. I've seen enemies just drop dead with a 20% - 30% HP bar after my first hit w/poisoned arrow and a couple of other shots after. My bow wasn't doing that much damage, so it had to be the poison.
