world border
is there a way to remove them? oblivion.ini is no present in the saves folders anywhere, and the one in the game directory does not disable it. it has the correct line ( bBorderRegionsEnabled=0) but does not remove them. even tried putting the oblivion.ini in the save folders (all of them just to be sure, lol) but the border was still there. No mod for it yet on nexus. is there a new line needed to do it or something? or does the remaster just ignore the ini now?

The ini file is in the ObvData folder now. Same for enabling the killing essential NPC's (That works). However every time I start the game, bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 keeps getting re-enabled.

Try your luck and see if you can get it working.

Hi, forgive me if you already know this method but you can write 'ghost' in the command console to bypass the borders.

I was able to bypass the border, then I entered the "walk" command. It really works!
There's also a glitched point south of Kvatch where you can squeeze out of the barrier (but any saves you try to make outside of the barrier will teleport you to the Tiber Septim Hotel instead when you reload so make a hard save before squeezing out of the barrier.

is it just noclip (TCL) or is it something new?
Yeah, I don't know why it's not working. I set bBorderRegionsEnabled=0, then noted that it was reverting back to "1" on start up, so I made Oblivion.ini "read only", and it stays a "0", but still doesn't work, which is frustrating. I read on another thread (which I'll link below) that the Oblivion.ini file is not used, which could be the reason why it's not working when changed? So, wonder what in oblivion controls the world boarder? I did end up just using "Ghost" then "walk", but I would like them to just be gone like I have it in all of my other Elder Scrolls/Fallout games. I find some of the boarder placements pretty ridiculous, and don't make sense.

there will be a mod for it eventually im sure. my ini doesnt revert, but it just doesnt work.
A bummer. :bummer:

Setting that variable to 0, was always a thing for me on PC.
As I hated that invisibul wall and the message that you cannot go further, when I played the game on 360. -.-

I really hope there will be a solution found at some point. :crossedfingers::otrfingerscrossed::hype:

These are code solutions.
Having a more permanent INI-solution is far more enjoyable.
Especially as they do not require an OBSE-mod that allows you to use console commands.
Despite I have it running, I won't use extra commands just to pass into a region, where nothing of interest is anyways.

Just would like to have the option to freely traverse without any dumb invisible walls. :wellok:
