Disgusting amount of crashes (Can't get out of sewers no matter what I do)
I've done and searched for all possible fixes all over the internet, but after spending an hour just trying to launch the game, I finally get to play, even with a crash every 5 minutes, I get to the sewers exit which is 100% CTD. I have done absolutely everything, even lowered my settings to the point where I get 400 fps, but no, the game doesn't let me leave, and keeps crashing nonstop. I payed 3 weeks worth of my paycheck for this.

Verify game files on steam. Set default graphics settings in menu, DONT TOUCH THEM INGAME. Restart a new savegame, do not rush the start of the tutorial, let it play out as it should. Don't spawn the Assassins ahead of the emperor.

Wait at the second part of the dungeon with the emperor, until you're suspected. Then again wait inside the cell with the Emperor.

Play as normal, save at the exit. You should be fine.

*ITS a known bug that the engine runs with the original, if you rush the tutorial it'll bug out the engine with how scripts load.

Thanks I will try
Random question, do you have either an Intel i9-13900K or 14900K CPU? I had an issue where I had to lower the volt/amps in my bios because the motherboard's stock power values were wrong. Just in case you do have one of those processors, do a search for "Optimizing Stability for Intel 13900K and 14900K CPUs" and let me know if you have any questions!

I have an I9-14900KF and nerver had this kind of problem.
It happens with every kind of motherboard or only some specific one ?

I've had 2 crashes in 24 hours and one was my fault.

Go figure.

i had the same issue exiting the sewers, been playing now with no issues

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
AMD Ryzen 5 3400G with Radeon Vega Graphics
32 GB

Settings on FRS, Balanced, Ultra Settings
50-60 fps outside
100 fps inside

I also installed "Ultimate Engine Tweaks" from nexus mods

I crashed my game by messing around in the tutorial sewers before meeting the emperor again, and found out I can go back through the cave wall above if I choose not to drop down but pelt fireballs at the emperor.

I broke his AI and he stops aggroing me, allowing me to pelt him with magic and using time to regenerate magicka. Then I pelted spells at his protectors and I jumped up the cave door to go back into the last area, then suddenly mystic dawn spawned behind the door after the protector appears from the door as I ran away, I used yield to get them to stop, and the mystic dawn fights where the rat cage is lol.

Go look for a Directx12 DXVK dll mod, it's called vkd3d-proton, get a zip file of the latest version and look inside for the dll file, and put that into your dx12 folder in your game's bin folder.

Though a word of warning is that crashes still occurs, but your performance oddly gets better as well compared to vanilla.

RX 7900 XTX on my Ryzen 5800X3D with 32GB, I can hit over 120 fps at the start of prison, and throughout the sewers, but I turn down the settings too since I want to maintain a better 1% lows, global illumination to lowest because I care little for lumen (btw lumen is forced on, maybe need a config file modification somehow).

Look inside your "Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows"

AMD CPU or AMD GPU?

This kinda stuff doesn't happen with Intel or Nvidia stuff so which is it?

I think it happens with more than one type of motherboard.
OP do you know if your graphics card has any slots in the back of it?

Sounds stupid but I was having a ton of issues like this and I stumbled across someone having the exact same issues with cybapunk 2077 saying to open the back panel of their PC and plug their monitor into the graphics card directly instead of the slots on the back of the PC.

Worked for me, I’ve only had 1 crash in 8 hours of play after doing that and I’m running at 110FPS inside and 60FPS outside while also having companions and increased enemies spawns mods.

Before that I was crashing 9 times out of 10 just getting to character creation or crashing after a few minutes if I managed to get past that part.

Doesn’t matter how good your PC is, but for me it was that the normal HDMi slot couldn’t handle the visuals and had to be connected to this hidden slot covered by a panel.

Didn’t even know this was a thing until I opened the back panel and found the slot for it hidden but connected directly to the graphics card.

My other games work fine so it was weird this fixed it for me. I plugged it back into the old slot to test it and yeah it just crashes immediately so I know this works for me.

Yes, I use my graphics card and not the processor display
