Dodge out of the way and XP

There is a perk with Block that let you dodge out of the way by pressing SPACE while blocking.
Now I wonder, do you still get skill progression if you dodge out of the way / is not hit?

Hard to test since mmmm.. Thinking about it, I was able to get 2% block with one fight against one weak mob.. (just stand still & blocking for 10 minutes.. boring but it worked) maybe I can test that next time I log in. Meanwhile if someone alreeady know, that would be even better!
