it's just an high tech port
it's a port of the original with bells and whistles still looking forward to skylivion mod that's a true remake hope it goes well

well its in the name, its a remaster. same game, new graphics.
Port = Converting a game from one type of system to another touching nothing except things to make it work on the new system such as Xbox to PC or PC to Xbox. Clearly that doesn't fit here. Barely any changes to assets.

Remaster = New assets such as meshes and textures, perhaps with tweaks to the base engine. Clearly fits here.

I mean, its says 'Oblivion Remastered' in the title - not remake.

Yes; it's literally in the title that it's a remaster. Not a port, not a remake, not "inspired by"; a remaster. The shiny bells and whistles are the point.

As for Skyblivion I have high hopes for it. And think it was pretty cool that Bethesda gave them free game keys for the Remaster. No reason people can't enjoy both.

you are right hopefully the fallout 3 remastered as good as this one I can't even play the original on my PC without it crashing
