I play with a 4060 and on startup, every load screen, and every 5 seconds outside it stutters insanely hard even with my gpu and cpu showing 65% and 35%. Indoors it still happens but a lot less noticeably, outside its full on seconds lost in frames. Then the load screens cut out as if its crashing and take ages to load. On startup my cpu spikes to 100% for at least 5 minutes, and letting it load and go down to 35% doesn't help once I load a save. Tried refunding but the tutorial is longer than 2 hours, honestly kind of a scam.

I am not having issues.

Make sure you are not playing at 2k or 4k and you will be fine. People don't realize that 4k is not for people with budget cards. Although I will admit the xx60 cards should be $200 not 400+

Turn ray tracing to low and turn on dlss , use balanced settings for dlss. Other settings turn on high or lower. Doing this I get 55-60 fps (as I set it to cap at 60)

UE5 is a resource hog though, I will say. Epic games is greedy ♥♥♥♥♥.
i have 4060ti, 2k res, dlss ultra performance, fg on, 120 fps, underground and world, at 4k 60 fps.

Did you try FSR + Frame Generation ON at Medium/High settings?

It's still the same as the original game, you're not missing anything. It might be better to wait a year for patches anyway.

any idea how those specs would handle and run oblivion remake tho?

I was of course referring to the remaster, and you should run comfortably on high settings if not higher but it does depend on your exact HDD space what exactly your CPU is (cores threads etc) and i really am no expert

hmm yeah the recommended ram on the store page is 32gb im just worried if i buy ill have stuttering or other issues but maybe i can tweak some settings to run smoothly at 60fps at 1080p thats all i expect really, im not looking for anything flash or fancy like 4k ultra nonsense

Its not your GPU. Sadly I have to play on low settings with textures on medium and I only get a steady 50 frames in the overworld and about 80 ish in buildings. There are alot of lighting and particle issues in Unreal, not just with this game. If it makes any difference, just put it on low and tell yourself that regardless of how it looks, it looks better than the original. I hope that Bethesda will update the game soon with some performance fixes. (Side note) Alot of the stutter and frame drops in the overworld are caused by the gates of Oblivion. Close a few and you will feel / see a difference)

your specs?
Dude, I have a 2080 Super.... you should be able to play this game.... I get a pretty solid 60fps, that DOES dip before 60. Just do some settings changes in the menu. Turn DLSS all the way to performance, reduce shadows to low, reduce reflections to low, and limit FPS to 60fps (so you can get some heat headroom on your GPU).

Trust me most people are left out, UE5 is unoptimized TAA trash. Vast majority of steam gamers still play on 1080p. This totally isn't because GPU prices are at an ever increasing all time high & availability is at an ever decreasing all time low.

I'm so sick of Nvidia & scalpers ruining my hobby the best they can.

What are your other PC specs? CPU, Ram, Resolution?

I have a 12gb 3060 (with 32gb ram and a Ryzen 5 5600X) and play on high at 1080p with DLSS on balanced and LumenRT off.

I mostly get 50-60 outdoors, with the occasional drop to like 40-45 for a few seconds. It's certainly playable for me.

I have the same rig as you except only 16gb ram. Having read the discussion board i had imagined my pc wouldnt run the game but it runs shockingly well even on high. I play with it on medium and DLSS balanced, software RT light low and this ensure i get 60fps 95% the time. I also dont have frequent issues with stuttering like some mention. I could play with higher settings and even ultra runs at on average 40-50fps.

The thing that makes the biggest difference is that you need DLSS enabled and you want to play it at 1080p. Turning DLSS off makes me struggle to play it on medium.

Also, the game is gorgeous even on medium so I don't think it should scare anyone away. Higher settings doesnt make the game look that much better but it makes it run way worse.

there's a mod that disables lumen and might be the ticket for you but it makes the game look like ass

I am on a 2070 super and it runs between 60-70 fps consistently 1080p, DLSS balanced, no RT and medium settings. I have a 7700x 32gb DDR5. my gpu is my next upgrade when I find the 5070 ti at MSRP.
