Crashing whenever I save the game

Just gonna throw my little stick onto the fire here but every time I autosave, quicksave or manually save the game it crashes.

Crash in runnable thread OblivionThread

Obviously not being able to save the game makes playing it a lil difficult so if anyone knows how to fix this that would be great.

Your Save might be Corrupt, Can you save a new game?

Check your security settings, you probably have controlled folder access on or you use an antimalware program that enforces it on by default. Don't know how to turn it off?

Good thing there's Bethesda support you paid for and the magic called Google.

I had this problem a couple days ago but it fixed itself randomly so I assumed it wouldn't be a corrupted save file but I just tested and could save on a new game which got me curious and I went and loaded a slightly older save when I wasn't in an Ayleid ruin and it did let me save.

Then I got even more curious and loaded up the problematic save which is now working so I got no idea what is going on but for now it seems to work.

I am getting this as well but my condition is even worse.

The only thing I can do is "continue", when I go to Load Game all of my saves are missing. I can hit continue to load my last quicksave but when I try to save after that I get a 100% crash.

I'm about 30 hours in so this is pretty upsetting as I've basically gone from having a blast to can't do anything.

I checked and I don't have controlled folder access. I also don't use one drive so the people talking about that know that is not my problem.

Spent about 3 hours googling and trying solutions and legit nothing. Sigh, fairly close to giving up.

Check you don't have Onedrive backups active :

Onedrive settings -> manage Backups .
If "documents folder " is enabled, disable.

Pretty sad this is an issue thats come from the old game. Save Corruption is a slow save killer.

After disabling steam cloud and one drive its safe to say your done for.

The only chance you have is to start a new game, Load your broken save. Good chance this works.

Try and get to an interior local, wait for a week or more ingame then Save and exit.

I remember this working years ago on the Xbox 360. Shot in the dark.
