Invincible Highwayman
There's a kaijit highwayman on the bridge en route to the dark brotherhood HQ and dude is straight up invincible. Dude just chased me across the map while he tanked a bunch of Imperial Guards and wolves. Anyone else experience this insanity?

i had the same problem with a highwayman who was on the long bridge south of the Imperial City...i kited him to the waterfront and a guard and a half dozen citizens took him down for me.

Maybe he had chameleon gear.

I've found this today - he can be killed with magic, oddly. Just seems to be physical damage. The long bridge with the thousands of torches, right?

Yeah, I just ran like hell though. He finally de-aggroed after a bunch of guards were chasing him and there were about 6-7 timberwolves chasing me. Didn't think to try magic attacks. I have made note for the next time our paths cross.

Ah good old Oblivion. Exactly how I remember it, with a pack of wolves and the entire Imperial Legion chasing an invincible and completely lone highwayman : D

I was able to damage this guy with arrows for some reason, but it was just silly. I had a guardsmen helping me, but neither he or I could put a scratch on him with a sword. And by the time I had him down to around 50% health, he looked like a pincushion, and I was running low on arrows.

I posted about this a bit ago. Ran into him in the exact same location. Later on, ran into him again somewhere out in the wilderness. Both times I ended up running away from him to one of those patrolling guards who thankfully provided a distraction. Haven't seen him since, thankfully.

Not a bug per-say. The original game also features a bandit that is extremely tough at low levels on the same road. I remember it well, as I used to just pay him to get past.

No, it's a bug. Guards can't even kill him.

Ah, I know what you're talking about.
One possible solution, if you happen to have the skill, is to inflict him with weakness to normal weapons from power attacking with 50+ blade skill and a sword/dagger. He has stupidly high physical resistance for some reason and doing this will allow him to take noticeable damage.
Can also just use magic too if you don't have the blade skill. Even a low destruction spell will have effect on him compared to non-enchanted physical weapons. Maybe you have some scrolls on you if you don't have a spell learned, hopefully?
