Refund request denied [Updated: Refunded]

Update: My refund request was accepted after I contacted Steam directly about a problem with the purchase and explained the situation. To everyone who commented with helpful suggestions, thank you. To all the terrible people who got sick pleasure out of a regular person losing $50 for a simple mistake, so glad I could disappoint you. :)

I wanted to play this game so bad. I love what I've seen. But I spent less than 2 hours playing, and the rest of my 3.6 hour total playtime was spent trying every setting imaginable to get it to run on my laptop. I guess my specs just aren't good enough. I downloaded mods to try to improve the performance, I installed DLSS Swapper, nvidia profile inspector, read discussions here and on reddit, watched YouTube videos. I cannot get the game to run above 30 fps on any combo of settings.

I explained this in my refund request, but my playtime exceeded 2 hours, so Steam denied me. Yes, my playtime exceeded 2 hours. But it wasn't 3.6 hours of PLAY time, Steam. It was less than 2 hours creating a character and getting out of the sewers, and almost 2 hours of running around in circles, pausing the game, trying new settings, unpausing, running around to see if the new settings worked, exiting to the main menu, changing settings, loading my save file, running around, pausing, changing settings, over and over. A huge waste of time and money for a game I can't play.

I've requested a refund on 1, maybe 2 games, in the 17 years I've been on Steam. I'm 43, I'm not a teenager trying scam Steam or Bethesda out of money. I saw 1% of this game. I can't play it. But these companies just want to steal my $50.

Don't be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to op, it's a noob mistake but they dont deserve to not get a refund lmao, there should be exceptions you should email bethesda themselves, complain etc

although really, if we wanted to be grownups ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ one might say you should have read the requirements...

welcome to unreal engine 5.. it is just going to have problems, it does not matter how good your pc is... it just runs badly. best part is the more updates they do it can get worse.

4060 should actually be fine, at least from a compute standpoint, even the mobile version. The desktop version is basically a 2080 and the mobile one is only like 10-15% slower

Not even just a 4060, It's a 4060M. Laptop GPUs are horrendous - a 1080-TI out performs it by 10~%.

I did. My specs are in line with the recommended requirements. The problem seems to be the reqs are for 8GB VRAM but they really should be for 10GB.

Considering 1080 Ti is still a very powerful graphics card and laptop gpus are low power, being behind by only 10% is rather impressive for a 4060
