If your game is going badly, try this.
https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/183 This removes the mandatory ray tracing that the game has.

https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/35 And this will solve stuttering.

I'll also say it's a shame that people outside the game solve the most basic problems with mods

Hum, some players seem to forget that to enjoy the game, you need a kinda high end toaster.

I just played for hours as it was impossible to stop.
it's years since i had such a kick.

Great visuals (yes, you can create a good looking Type 2 Elf Archer), perfect fluidity, not an inch of trouble.

i used the default config (allmost everything max) and just highered 2 distance/char sliders. My card is 4090 RTX with 64 Mo Ram.

Annyway, do your best to enjoy this jewel

Still doesn't fix the stuttering for me'; I'm on a 4080 Super, 7800X3D, 32gb RAM, SSD.

I picked this game up on Gamepass after refunding it on steam so I could try to make it 'work.' A weird thing that I've noticed between the 2 version is the steam version has more graphical settings, while the xbox gamepass version has less. And unfortunately, for me, both have the same stuttering issue that happens during combat only.

I've tried every mod 'fix,' rolling back drivers, testing every setting... I really don't know what's causing this issue. Other games, including UE5 games run flawlessly for me, so I don't think it's a hardware issue on my end.

Unreal engine 5 an absolute aberration towards players, full of stuttering and poor optimization. I usually avoid games that use this graphic engine. I just tried the mods them, and I do notice some improvement but not a big deal. I've been playing for less than two hours and I'm going to ask for a refund.
One other fix for stuttering is to disable Nvidia Reflex or AMD Anti-lag if you have it enabled. It does not work properly with Oblivion Remastered.

Black Myth Wukong is UE5 and I didn't have anything close to the issues this game has. It's hard for me to blame UE5 when this is the first game I would say is unplayable for me.

yeah the crashing seems random , some ppl have it happen after exiting the sewers at the start , ive got 24 hours of playtime in till it got to a point of not even being unable to launch it. ive tried literally every non mod fix so far. it is rather bizarre.

Same, im on 4070TIsuper and 7800x3d, the stuttering is pretty insane no matter the settings. I can push the game to more than 200 fps but it stutters to around 30. Same happens even if i lock framerate at 60.

I don't know if you're having the same problem as me, but the problem was using a controller. As soon as I switched to KB & Mouse my issue was gone. When I switch back to controller it keeps doing the stuttering in combat.

I made a post here with a bit more detail.

What this mod solve is not a game issue. Is a player issue. People try to play with toasters and need mods to remove RT. Blame your systems, not the game.

This is a fallacy.

Try a downgrade of geforce driver to 566.36.
I did and I think it reduced stuttering a lot on my 4070 / 7800x3D

My problem was using a controller, I don't know why, never seen this problem before in any game. Thanks though.

This. AMD Anti-lag doesn't play nice with UE5 games it seems. Disabling that fixed my stutter issues with Oblivion Remastered AND Expedition 33.

Lumen Begone actually has a version that includes Ultimate Engine Tweaks as well. See second file:

https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/183?tab=files

However, there's a mod I found that offers better FPS than Ultimate and unlike Begone lets you keep hardware raytracing on for those sumptuous visuals:

https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/79

Have a look at the Posts section to see some of the improvements people are seeing. My minimum spec rig went from 45fps with stuttering to 60fps and silky smoothness. I posted this in its own thread a couple of days ago and one user there went from 55fps right up to 120fps. Just be careful to read the suggested settings, and delete any modded engine.ini if you have one.
