Weapon Ghosting
Noticed some weird behavior when sheathing / unsheathing weapons with a torch equipped. When I have a shield and a torch, the weapon has ghosting when unsheathed. When there is only a torch and weapon, it is fine. When there is no torch, it is fine. It looks like it's an artifact of how the weapons are loaded in. It unloads the weapon and shield when the torch is out. Really weird. Hope it gets fixed.

This is DLSS/upscaling for you. Its the wonderful new norm. Only way to get rid of it is to not use those and play at like half the FPS you get now by running everything in your native resolution using pure rasterization power.

Nope, that's not it. I disabled all of those settings to check. It's how they instantiate objects.

its probably taa, if not then its screen space reflections.
Try turning off screenspace reflections. I was getting similar behaviour next to bodies of water.

It is not a graphics setting problem. It does not create the ghost image unless you have both a torch and a shield equipped.

do you have any mods? ik you said it only happened with torch and shield but try turning off upscaling technique if you haven't already just to see. i had heavy after image issues when i took out or put away my weapons, used my bow or blocked with shields. ik its not the same though but still

I've since dug into the game files and there is a fade value configured for fading in objects. I may try to make a mod to remove that.

that would be cool, another thing to look into that could cause a fix, you said you have issues with the torch and shield causing ghosting, right? well there is a issue with the shield getting stuck on your arm when using a bow or whatever and removing the torch fixes that maybe both are related? Only taking a guess, I don't really know the technical stuff but it seems to be torch related
