The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Performance is written by AI in 2025. Crashes, artifacting and more.
Unfortunately we live in a world where most code is written by AI slop. Programmers got lazy, just look at the latest drivers launched by Nvidia. They literally brick your windows boot and have to enter safe mode to roll back a couple of drivers for your PC to work again.

Now if your GPU vendor inserts AI slop in the driver, what happens when both your OS (Win 11 24h2) and your gaming engine (UE 5) does the same? A disastrous holy trinity.

Now Bethesda comes after so many L s with an oblivion remaster at around 50 euros price tag.

I played a couple of hours of this remaster and I can say that if you are sedated well enough to ignore the engine / driver / windows crashes (yes, all combined) you are in for a good time. But a good time that costs $50? Hell ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no.

Gamers have gotten complacent about having to endure the high price tag for a low effort product (both game and hardware) which is something that has not been seen in the history of tech ever.

Meanwhile everyone is busy with the woke agenda when the tech is the one that needs the most scrutiny.

Clown world, clown times, clown prices.

Okay gamer
I have a GTX 1060 and have been playing this non stop since it came out without any of those problems.

Literally the best remaster I have ever played.

I've got a 2080ti in a 6/7 year old rig playing at 4k with dlss on in performance mode and graphics set to medium preset.

Plays fine and looks great.

Please don't talk about things you don't understand
IDK virtuous said they made this from the ground up...any evidence backing your claims? Also, Bethesda Ls? Maybe in the YouTube comments but last I heard the game before Starfield is being played a ♥♥♥♥ ton, as is their game before that...as is this one.

Beth ain't going to release games if their older games are still raking it in. Why compete with yourselves and what do they owe you if you're already entertained? Just ask R*....

You just want Beth to roll over and speak...but they gave you horse armor instead..which you probably bought...again

This is 100% unverifiable fear-mongering rage bait.

UE5 has too many "one button" features that make it easy to pump out a game but are very unoptimised without work. That's why they chose to hack the original game into a UE5 layer, very easy to hit a toggle to add ray tracing but also very bad performance.
Untested (for optimization) Nanite and Lumen configurations is what is causing the issues, not AI. At least in UE5 games.

Communities have tested tweaks to these things and got MUCH better results, thus we can only assume developers are NOT testing their settings and leaving them defaulted.

I have played for over 30 hours on console, and several on pc. I have experience literally none of the issues you just described. I have an RTX 2060, 32GB of RAM, and an Intel i7 105??F (Not at the computer while writing this to get exact numbers.) My Machine just barely creeps over the recommended specs line in most ways. If anyone was going to crash and have it be a software thing and not a hardware thing, it would be me, because my low end hardware can't compensate for software issues or poor optimization, but technically beats the requested specs for the game. I even installed the script extender for extra instability, it still don't crash.
