Vortex breaking launch

The game doesnt lauch anymore, all i did was adding the game to vortex library.
The game worked fine and all, i played about 5 hours, now i cant even launch it from steam, neither from vortex(never worked since adding it to the library).

i didnt add any mods, nothing , just added it to the vortex library,

i deleted the dlss file that some people talks on other threads of troubleshooting launch. I clicked on ``stop managing`` button of vortex, but it doesnt do anything as the mod list is empty. I also deleted the file created for oblivion to add the mods(myeah, doubt it would be that, but also didnt worked)

i get this crash report, reinstalling the game as of now, it s like im getting an authentification ID problem since then;

I had the same issue on the xbox app version.
I did all this: Deleting the Oblivion Extention in vortex. Delete everything vortex added to the games folder, including the mods folder (even if empty). And delete the Oblivion profile in vortex.

Best to not start Vortex after your reinstalled the game x)

Edit: I afterwards installed the mods without the vortex launcher, it's often mentioned on the mods page how to do so

Check your load order in vortex. It organized it alphabetically for some reason. Oblivion.esm should be first.

Yeah, i jus wanted to see if the modders were already working haha, turns out i shouldnt have bothered with this, now im just waiting for the download again... :(

OMFG THANK YOU! I've been crashing all day since I added it to Vortex, even if I turned off all of my mods. I didn't even think to check the load order and just putting oblivion.esm at the top fixed it.

if you use mods then the game will auto give you dlc items at the start of game. only way to fix that is to remove all mods and verify files. dont bother with mods yet

ya for me when a mod gets updated Vortex seems to arrange loadorder alphabetically which put Oblivion.esm in the middle and game chokes on it. Check yer load order after updates and fix it if its alphabetical.

This was the issue for me - reordered and it worked

This fixed it for me thanks a ton. I'm so used to having LOOT, all i had to do was manually drag the esm file to the top.
