Repair cost is insane.

I'm currently struggling with the repair cost of my armor and sword. If I want to repair all of them, but it costs around 3000 to 4000 gold coins. It's way to much, while I only earn around 400 gold coins on each trip until I need repairs. If I sell some treasure I can get to have around 1500 to 2000 gold coins until I'm broke. I'm currently level 10 and I use the Umbra set with her sword. Does anyone know a way to get around this? Either a way to get easy money or a way to drop the price?

carry repair hammers, i usually keep around 10 on me at a time, once you get armorer to level 100 you'll only need 1 hammer forever

Especially if you love exploring and looting dungeons.

buy repair hammers, repair your own gear (it's cheaper) and you get experience. It cost 25 gold to rent a room!

At the start of the game, repairing is very expensive. And your items will break constantly. It does get better later in the game, particularly if you level up your skills (blade, blunt, heavy armor, light armor, and particularly armorer). Later on in the game, you will also find WAY more gold. So don't panic. Just keep going and get used to going on one quest and watching all your gear fall apart each time, then spending a fair chunk of gold on repairing it all.

for actual advice, buy as many repair hammers as you can find, now for sarcastic advice(that doubles as real adivice) dont go out of your way to kill a level 50 npc, use their armor and weapons and then complain that the repair cost is insane. esspecially since umbra-the sword_ is a deadric artifact.

I would like to point out that there is a mod to reduce or remove equipment durability loss.
If you cannot stand it this is an option

I'm on my first run ever right now, and am still learning the game, but isn't god armor SUPPOSED to be much more expensive to repair than a more level-appropriate set at our early levels?

Keep using repair hammers. Once you level up to a point, the repair hammers will last longer and eventually never break.

You can make very easy money, go to farms and pick all the tomatoes, corns etc and then you make a potion out of them and you sell them to the vendor, you haggle the price as much as you can too! I made tons of money this way

Get lots of repair hammers and repair, and repair again, everything you can get your hand on.

yea he killed a level 50 npc, and then is complaining that his set of full ebony armor cost a lot to repair, thats an armor set that doesnt start spawing till about levek 15 and its still quite rare to find.

I have an iron set of armor. Repair costs are low. I find so many repair hammers in creates it is not funny.

The best way to get money early is with alchemy.
Buy a ton of food from the inns and shops.
Make a ton of Fatigue potions.
Increase your friendship with NPCs then barter.
Costing you 2 gold on average.
Costing around 4 gold.
Higher your alchemy skill potions can sell for 50+ gold each
combined with levelling your merchant skill.

The dark elf in the imperial city in the nearest inn has a maximum limit of 2000 sell price.
Making it easy to get thousands without much effort.
