One of the first things I went to look for. Raytracing is still, relatively, in its infancy, and is really only good for very high end cards and systems. Great in CGI rendering and tech demos, but real time gaming still needs a lot more optimization.

Anyways I agree. This setting shouldn't be forced to be on with low quality on software, if your hardware doesn't support it or you do not want it at all.

That's even worse then. Why do they force such a thing? There should always be an "OFF"-option for such demanding settings.
Especially as "Low" looks bonkers (in a bad way).
There are ini files in OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData
but where would one place a new engine.ini?
