Adept is too easy and Expert is too hard. IMO.
As a melee battle-mage type character anyways.

You quickly outscale Expert too.

You are supposed to get some kind of armor before you go expert, sir. Or at least learn how to not take hits!

I agree.
A couple mods available that address this.

Adept as melee is easy until L10 then the difficulty ramps up. All of a sudden everything takes a bunch of hits to kill. You'll be fine vs single mobs but when you're going against 3 or more you're gonna have to chug potions.
In expert you take three times as much damage as adept and deal only 60% as much IIRC, it's quite the gap.

Yeah, it's wild. It should be 1.5 as much damage taken and 80% damage given.
this. please bring back the slider or add more varied difficulties. the jump is insane.
ya siriusly WHY IS THERE HEALTH REGEN!!!!!!! defeats the purpose of healing spells and potions.

Was about to post about this myself, the difficulty is weird in this. Master is ridiculous, Expert you get one shot quite often (even as a tanky warrior build) and enemies are sponges, and anything lower is hilariously easy you just one shot everything and its boring. I've noticed on expert it can take 10+ arrows to kill a mage in a robe as a stealth archer, or as a mage you can empty your entire magicka bar and they aren't dead. (I have too many characters already)

I noticed that too. And not just melee. Enemies were taking 1-5 hits, depending on what they were. Hit level 10 and suddenly it was taking 20+ hits, with melee or spells to take out a single enemy. And all of the human ones, seem to be able to almost full heal, when they get down to half, as well. Currently at level 14, with my strongest weapon, a sneak attack doing 3x damage, does about 15%ish of a standard bandits health. Crazy spike in difficulty there. Granted I havent died. But still, was not expecting the sudden jump in enemy tankiness.

It's actually closer to 50% due to rounding, which is probably why the gap feels so high. At least from what I have seen I highly doubt that 3.6 actually gets rounded up to 4. What makes it look so bad is a mixture of getting less than you should rightfully expect and everything now taking forever.
0.6 damage don't sound like much, but you will feel them when the fights take forever.

Frankly, the enemies getting tanky doesn't even make it that much harder, just tiring as hell.

Adept is too hard actually too. Everyone is a damage sponge from a certain point

Imo the perfect balance for expert would be if the damage you do would just be upped, i think losing yuge chunks off of your hp without heavy armor is good but its just stupid that even bandit in fur armor barely gets tickled. Kill fast and die faster would be better
