[SOLVED] Crash on inventory opening and use outdoors

I was experiencing a lot of weird crashes recently when I was outdoors in the game and if I opened my inventory a number of times the game would crash and I'd get a UE5 popup with a bunch of text I didn't understand, including something called kernel or whatever.

I've got a pretty good idea what I did to fix it but this might only be specific to people who, like me, are porting there save files between Steam Deck and their PC.

Basically, our Steam Deck saves are clashing with the windows version of the game, and this continues to be a problem even if you start a fresh save on your PC.

So I deleted all my saves and started a new character (You won't need to do this), and that solved it.

I then imported just 1 of my steam deck saves, not all of them, just a standard save file. All now works fine.

As an extra I also changed my desktop background to a basic solid colour unless that contributed in some way.

EDIT: As the game doesn't properly support cloud saves yet, we're obviously having to manually drag them out of one drive and into the only folder that the game uses to check for save files.

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames

Just to add, the OneDrive saves share a mirror file location with the folders in your file explorer under tab called This PC on your side bar, do NOT look for the save file location there.

Go to your Local C drive, into users and follow the directory path as shown above. Do NOT check under the This PC and go into the Documents folder there, that's still your OneDrive folder.

I tried importing my save file from the steam deck to PC and it is not being detected, is there something Im missing?

onedrive options -> manage backups -> untick "documents folder" problem solved.
