Have you tried multiple pieces of gear with the enchantment?
Have you tried enchanting other armor pieces like head, body, ring, blah insteaf? I know in Morrowind, this would be the answer.
Maybe you remember it being a gear cast enchantment and not a constant effect enchantment? You can normally use cast enchantments a lot stronger than constant effects.
I completely forgot about sigil stones, which is what you need to go above 20ft.
Originally, detected things had a nice pink, *easy to see* aura around them.
Now, the French devs felt a sparkle would be cooler -- which makes it nearly impossible to see unless really dark. Plus, sometimes even in dark areas, it doesn't show at all unless the target is moving.
I played around with vid settings, hoping that boosting one of them might make the sparkle bigger or something. No luck. I hope someone makes a mod to restore the original behavior.
