As someone who played it when it first came out I can say a lot is the same, but damn does it look good now. Came out of the first optional dungeon and it was storming, lighting in the clouds and an aurora off in the distance over the mountains. I shed a wee tear I won't lie.

I played this game so much through my childhood that I wanted to make sure it wasn't some 100% nostalgia purchase I'd get bored of over a weekend.

Its a rebuild on an entirely different engine, The developers did their best to retain the spirit of the original while implementing some modern tweaks as well. Leveling is less complex compared to the original. It feels like a faithful modernization of the game a lot of us fell in love with 20 years ago. Is it perfect? no, but neither was the original to be fair. Most people seem to really like it. I have been impressed with it. hope this helps.

also: male/female is changed into body type 1/2. Due to that - it changes how NPC speak to you and it's bigger change than just picking "body type" breaking the immersion of the game in dialogues.

--and they DELETED female body armours. So... breakin immersion even further for female characters

Edit: I’ve only had one crash so far. Also, I hadn’t seen the bottle rocket physics until I watched this YouTube video pretty wild stuff. Overall, the game has seen a lot of improvements, and I genuinely think it’s worth every penny. I think he was way to harsh on the review.

Ah right on, that helps a lot! Yeah, the original wasn't perfect, but as long as there's some form of improvement, that's all that matters to me. Thank you! :)

Some of the comments in other posts are wild. People are saying the graphics are barely different from the 2006 version of this game. I think they need their eyes checked by a professional. Also, not many people know that the game still uses the Creation Engine underneath. it only uses Unreal Engine 5 for the graphics.
