Refunding - Makes My PC Freeze
Idk why, but if I use my inventory, loot a chest, or a corpse, this game has a high chance to freeze. My monitors disappear shortly after that happens. The only way to fix this is to force turn my pc off and just turn it back on and start again.

Other than losing progress, it is messing with my pc. I've just turned my PC back on and now 2 things have happened:
1. My monitor is no longer picking up the aux cable wire for my speakers, they don't exist.
2. I no longer have a second monitor.

I'm at 2.2 hours and if I try to fix it any further I will go over the limit for any refunds. It's a bit crappy really.

Specs are Ryzen 5 5600, 6700xt and 32gb ram. Fullscreen mode.

I will try it again in the future. $99.95 AUD was so much money to shell over for it too. Might just get the PS5 version in the future! Needless to say, I was so excited and now I am sad. I had barely left the sewer, it just freezes. Ahhhh :(

You're better off refunding it at this point in time if you're concerned about potentially wasting your money.

Have you updated your display drivers to the AMD beta? I mainly updated to it for FSR4 support on my 9070 XT though. You'll need to manually download if you want to try the beta drivers out, maybe they've ironed out some specific Oblivion Remastered issues in them.

I had 1 crash so far. freeing space in my hard drive fixed it. no more crash. but that game does heat my laptop quite a bit.

Hey, yeah, I just found out its destroyed my drivers somehow LOL I tried hopping onto Fortnite, it said I was not using the right drivers for my card. I open up my Radeon software and it's full cooked saying it's not compatible.

I sadly will have to refund.

I'd recommend using DDU and doing a full reinstall on your display drivers. It may resolve the new issues. Though, there are risks involved if you don't know what you're doing.

Has a bad PC
Plays fortnite.
Doesnt know how drivers work.

Clearly user stupidity is the main issue here

It's happened a few times over the years. I never had issues with NVIDIA on my 1660, but these AMD drivers seem unstable quite often.

I have been meaning to hop back to NVIDIA sometime.

I have a 1700 Ryzen cpu, 6700 xt 12GB, and 16GB RAM and 1440p resolution with settings on medium and ray tracing on and I am not having the problems you are.

I am getting 40 fps with some dips here and there in open world and runs great indoors.

No crashes yet. Not going to help you I guess, but I have not had the issues you have with similar hardware.

Thanks for comparing. I am unsure what could cause it either. The frames are great, it runs well, and my temps are stable. It just freezes once I Tab to menu or open a lootable item. Pure tragedy.

Didn't see this reply. But I have 300gb free.

It did not freeze up my machine but there were certainly quite a few bugs in the game that made me refund

Nvidia drivers at the moment are terrible, a lot of people have had to roll back to earlier versions. I haven't had issues with my 9070 XT apart from the ones that I created myself (not all games respond well to an undervolt - lol). Not that it's a glowing endorsement of them from me, I mainly chose this one because the dollar to performance value and its improved safety (i.e. not catching on fire).

BTW, you'll need to use DDU if you decide to switch or do a full system reinstall - had to use DDU going from a Nvidia to AMD myself.

True, it could definitely be the settings that they're using. My initial thoughts were potential hardware issues, especially since its affecting other games now too.

I didn't have any other issues, besides finding slaughterfish on land lol and then of course it crashed when I looted my first fish scale

Thanks, I have it on. I didn't try windowed mode at all, only fullscreen vsycn to align 120hz on monitor. Another thing is I'm using display for my main and HDMI for my second monitor.

Must be a current gen thing cos my NVIDIA drivers were amazing in 2019-2021. As soon as I switched to AMD I had a headache with this and this about about the 4th time a new game has made my driver's go insane haha trouble shooting is not as fun as playing a game that's for sure :p

Also I'm on medium settings. My frames are good, not bad. And my temps are good too. So it has me so confused.

I've opted to refund it for now. If it try change settings, windows etc, it's just gonna chew my hours up and make a refund impossible. I got burnes that way once before with Isonzo. Promised help on discord, trouble shoot, 20 hours of messy playing and broken connection, promised they'd fix it as we talked on discord - next minute sub chat gone and denied refund lol
