Can anyone get through the Cheydenhal Mages Guild well quest?
I can't get to the quest objective because the hole in the bottom of the well is too small for my character to swim through.

People are saying some races can't fit through the doors, like High Elves for instance. I don't own the game, still deciding if I want remastered since I have the original and played it to death. Anyways, someone solved not fitting through doors by removing boots. May be try removing armor?
Are you trying to swim through archways underwater?

High Elves do seem to have an issue with being too tall. I can't get up the stairs to trade with the Argonian shopkeeper in Chorrol.

I just saw in one of the threads that one person actually solved this well part in Cheydenhal Mages guild by removing boots, so try it.
Crazy that they didn't catch this bug before releasing the game.

I went to test it out and the problem was gone, after experiencing it on multiple separate occasions. How odd.

I also read that if you are an altmer you may have to switch from 3rd to 1st person to be able to fit places lol.

All player races are the same height now though, size shouldn't be a problem no matter what you're playing.

>Player character height is now the same for every race. NPCs will vary in height depending on their race, but the player character's height is always the same as an Imperial's no matter which race is chosen.

Apparently just exiting the game and going back in can fix it according to a Youtube video I found regarding the issue, and I did just that. Worked for me without removing boots.

The bug is more after a few hours of playing, you character in first person camera "grow" it seems the camera is set higher, you cannot fit into some spaces, just save and restart the game.
You're telling me that the classic pure mage race didn't get play-tested for a major quest regarding the mage guild? Sounds about right

Can confirm that this worked for me as an altmer who had this exact problem

Thank you for this. As a High Elf I can confirm exiting the game and reloading worked and I can fit in the passageway at the bottom of the well now!
